Brecken Connaly Gray is a Zamastanian politician and diplomat who currently serves as the 55th Secretary of State under President Atticus Moreau, having replaced Jessiah Vallotis following his resignation on 13 April 2022. Prior to his position in the Department of State, Gray served as a Congressman representing Pahl's 11th district from 2000-2010 and later served under President Cassious Castovia as the ambassador to Emmiria from 2010-2015. He served as the ambassador to the Coalition of Crown Albatross under Zacharias Castovia. He served as a national security advisor for both Presidents Anya Bishop and Foley Sakzi.
Early life and education
Gray was born on October 28, 1956, in Glades, Pahl, to Shoassauan World War refugees Judell and Dautree Gray, who later served as Ambassador to Quetana. Gray's uncle, Alan Gray, served as the ambassador to Vitosium. Gray attended Tess University from 1974 to 1978, where he majored in social studies. He co-edited Tess's daily student newspaper, The Tess Crimson, and wrote a number of articles on current affairs. After graduating from Tess, Gray worked as an intern for the Tofino Times for about a year. He practiced law in Tofino and Piva, Durnstaal. Gray worked with his father Dautree to raise funds for Cassious Castovia in his 1986 reelection bid, which he lost.

Personal life
Gray is Jewish. In 1992, Gray and Elizabeth Rivas were married in an interfaith ceremony officiated by a rabbi and a priest in Sutton. They have two children. Gray is fluent in French. He plays guitar and was a member of a small band called "Gray and Sway".
