Korocia was founded in the late 1600s by Garindinan explorers as a colony. The colony's territory expanded into regions inhabited by Svisk and Kovar natives, who were either displaced from the land or assimilated into Garindinan settlements. During Garindina's Constitution War, the governor of the colony was overthrown, leading to the declaration of the State of Korocia as an independent nation.
History
Pre-Colonization
Prior to the arrival of Garindinan colonists, the region was inhabited by the Kovar and Svisk peoples. Kovarcika was the ancestral homeland of the Kovar people, who led a nomadic lifestyle with settlements dispersed throughout the expansive eastern region of modern day Korocia. Kovarcika was never unified prior to colonization, so the Kovar people existed within smaller, decentralized dynasties. Sviskana was the homeland of the Svisk people, primarily situated in the southwestern mountain range. At some point in Svisk history, the people united under one monarch and expanded northward to the Keelpjip coast.
