It is the oldest a highest in order of precedence of the service branches in the Tengarian Armed forces; it was nitially founded as a resistance movement in 1930 as the gathering of the shattered remnant of the Tengarian Imperial Army, forces by Simeon Kovachev. The National Army was the primary resisting force to Amathian occupation, and was incorporated after the war into the newly made Republic of Tengaria.
