The Joint Security Intelligence Initiative is a working group of Fratanica's intelligence and security agencies, working together to protect Fratanica from both internal and external threats. The group has been under the Ministry of Home Affairs since its inception. Their roles involve intelligence gathering, counterterrorism, and protection of national security.
The JSII was established on 11 July 2000 by the Joint Intelligence Cooperation Act of 2000, creating a national security group in order to increase cooperation within the national intelligence apparatus. Since then, the group has become an important part in informing national security decisions and sharing information between agencies.
The current Chief of Joint Intelligence is Audric Gauchet, who had been confirmed by the National Assembly on 13 July 2021.
History
Before the group had existed, information gathering was fragmented between the various agencies. There was a lack of cooperation between the various agencies.
