The Battle of Honoira was a decisive battle in the Battle for the Betio Island from December 1, 1941 to February 7, 1942. The battle itself hastened the Island Hopping Campaign of the Allied Forces, allowing them to gain a foothold for establishing a supply line for the upcoming Battle of the Bikini Islands and the Landings at Montagique. It was also one of the heaviest battles fought in the Asianna and the Pacific Campaign.
