Varddi
Varddi is a landlocked nation located in the continent of Lorecia. It is bordered to the west by the Aurora Confederacy and to the east by Arstotska. Prior to 2007, Varddi was a terra nullius called simply the Western Tundra, with no established government or recognized borders.
Geography
Varddi has a population of 300,000 people. The terrain of Varddi is characterized by the alpine tundra climate, which creates a challenging environment for farming and other agricultural practices. The main river in Varddi is the Rorn.
History
In 2007, Belka occupied the Western Tundra, prompting the Astyrian Coalition to take action to free the region from occupation. With assistance primarily from the Blackhelm Confederacy, Belka was eventually driven out, and the nation of Varddi was established. The majority of the population is comprised of herding clans, who have adapted to the challenging environment over generations.
Government
Varddi operates as a parliamentary democracy with a unicameral legislature. The executive branch is led by a prime minister, who is appointed by the president. The judiciary is independent of the other branches and consists of a supreme court and lower courts. The government is based in the capital city of Alggas.

The majority of the Varddic people are ethnically Snjóráhccat, who maintain a culture that is heavily influenced by their nomadic lifestyle. The traditional dress of the Snjóráhccat is made from locally sourced materials and is designed to protect against the harsh alpine tundra climate, and they are known for their music, which is characterized by the use of traditional instruments such as the munnharpe and the willow flute.
