The Tales of the Arcadia are an extensive collection of stories written by Zenio Periclon during the years of his service on board of the Arcadia. This pseudo-logbook, in addition to narrating the heroic ventures of the ship and its landings in unknown lands, tells the daily events of the crewmembers and the more mundane aspects of their adventures, describing in detail the familiar atmosphere established on board the Arcadia among the crew. There is also a long and articulated description of the ship itself and its history, and there are a multitude of biographical information on each arcadianaut; it is noteworthy the meticulous biography of the captain of the Arcadia, Ahndo Scatevrio. This book starts off as a sort of personal diary of the young Zenio, just hired as a cabin boy aboard the Arcadia in 1597 AR, and of his later professional growth until he became second lieutenant on board. Thus, the Tales of the Arcadia not only narrate life on the ship but also serve as tales of Zenio Periclon's formation and establishment as a nautical explorer.
