Ignesia (/ɪˈɡniʒə/ Ignesi: Igneza, /ɪˈɡ'neʒə/), officially the Imperial State of Ignesia (Rox Igneza Axempavriner), is a country in the Eastern hemisphere that comprises of the entirety of the continent of Vimicia, and also includes the major Imperial Dominions of Irvaran, Duslan, and Perastlos. Ignesia shares sea-borders with Zheynes and Karvahlanovos through Ivraran. The total area of Ignesia and its dominions is 111.32 million km2, with a population of around 3.5 billion, almost all of which live in Ignesia proper. Ignesia is surrounded by the Visivean Ocean to its east, the Novanei to its north, the Duslavians to its west, and the Strayastlos Strait to its south.

With one of the logest and most well-recorded histories of any nation, humans came fron the continent of Avanere to settle the continent back in 5,000 BE, the most notable of these being the Proto-Hysante peoples. The proto-Ignesian, or Ignevan people, would settle in the Prexarima River, developing the earliest forms of automated agricultural devices, state religion, and urbanization, with many cities built during the Hlepreve dynasty (4300-2500 BE) still surviving until this day, The Yleneler dynasty of Igneva (2300-400 BE) is the longest lasting historical state in existence, and many innovations and the birth of the Nexarnean religions would take place during the period. After the fall of the Yleneler, Vimicius would reunite Igneva and proceed to conquer all of Vimicia, but his First Ignesian Empire would fall after Xernos' usurpation in 392 AE.

Several states emerged and seceded from Ignesia, but would be reconquered after the Vecepere, an era of constant warring across Vimicia that ended in 1362. The discovery of the continent by Denelssene in 1529 would mark the beginning of the Western Incursions, when many nations from the continent of Avanere attempted to seize land from Ignesia and to colonize the continent. After the end of the Eastern Incursions, Ignesia would also partake in colonization, establish many dominions in the West. The World War would cripple the Avanere continent, and would cement Ignesia as the world's foremost power. The Trissala Revolutions in the 1940s and 1950s would heavily damage the already weakened Avanere powers that endured the World War just decades prior, and would further Ignesia's hegemony as the sole power in world affairs, the only non-Phaternist nation at the time in the World Primacy of the AON.

Ignesia's government is structured as a semi-constitutional monarchy, with the Axemparex and Ignestex, the Ignesian legislative body. The capital and largest city is Prima Vimicia, where 86 million people reside. Vrespe, Hercan, and Ilvane are considered the major cities of Ignesia, with the last of which considered as the financial centre of the nation. Ignesia has many states that lie outside of Vimicia. Some are Imperial Dominions, semi-independent polities that function with their own local government, but are not exempt from Ignesian law.

Recognized as the world's first industrialized nation, Ignesia is the leading military, scientific, and cultural force in the world, and is a high-income country characterized by very high quality of life, diverse economy and geography, and culture. The Ignesian Nix (₦) is officially the world's reserve currency by the AON, whose Ignesia is one of the four nations that occupy the World Primacy, and is a member of the WMO, the OCP and the Avanere-Vimicia Cooperation Group. The nation ranks high in measures of education, healthcare, equality, and human rights, and ranking low in corruption, and below average in cultural diversity and political freedom. The GDP of Ignesia is estimated to be over 102 trillion, more than 60% of the world's GDP, and has the highest median income in the world.

Etymology

The word Ignesia presumably comes from a portmanteau of Igneva and the Niesker word seia, meaning state, literally meaning "state of Igneva". The word Igneva originated from the Gandernan word "Icnieva", meaning "fire worshipper", possibly relating to the pre-Nexarnam religions that predated the establishment of the First Ignesian Empire.

There is some that disagree with the assumption, and suggest that Ignesia was named as such due to the Naralian translation of Denelssene's work on the discovery of Vimicia, which used Ignezia instead of Igneza from the original work. The official name of the nation ("Rox Igneza Axempar") came from the Old Ignesi word aksenper, meaning greatest, and the Vernero word raer, meaning realm, literally meaning "Greatest Realm of Ignesia".

History

Before Vimicius

Regarded as the Pre-Vimician era, this era encompasses the period after the discovery of the continent by proto-Hysante peoples, until the end of the conquests of Vimicius. The first proto-Hysante peoples to have migrated from Hysante came at around 5000 BE, bringing the recently developed hieroglyph writing system from 200 years prior.

Many tribes and civilizations would develop after the settlement by the proto-Hysante, such as the Izactan, Venesscktyer, Castrelpe, and many others. These civilizations are regarded as the first ever to domesticate horses and use them for transport, and the first civilizations to evolve from hieroglyphic writing, which predate the first syllabic script by the Wacate in the continent of Eurrene by about 600 years. The first recorded leader of Igneva, Uvjen, founded the Hlepreve dynasty, and would be known for cities such as Ievelox (now Yleverneler) surviving even 6000 years after their construction, and their clay monuments such as the Hxiuopele. The cause for its fall is relatively unknown, and records that succeeded the period would be few and far between, in the era called "The Lost Period".

According to a majority of historians, the first ever record of an Ignevan state after the fall of the Hlepreve, about 2300 BE, was led by Ylenel and his Yleneler dynasty and coincided with the rise of the Ganderna peoples in 2200 BE. This was the start of the Second Ignevan Period, where the Yleneler dynasty constructed monuments made out of metals such as gold, bronze, and the like. Primitive paper production also coincided with this era. The Yleneler dynasty would fall in around 400 BE, as a result of destructive natural phenomena that left the capital city of Ielevox in ruins and the last Yleneler Axemparex dead, along with her family.

700 years before the fall of the Yleneler, the prophet Nexarnam established the Nexarnamiste religion, which contrasted the animistic and sacrificial religions that the Yleneler Igneva upheld. Although it is only until Vimicius 1100 years later that Nexarnist faiths become the state religion of Igneva, the religion became very widespread across the masses, with the oldest recorded census that still survives to this day, the Ignevan census of 4412 (912 BE), reports that over two-thirds of all participants, out of possibly 5,200,000-7,000,000, practiced Nexarnamiste.

Succeeding the Yleneler were a multitude of kingdoms and governorships that claimed successorship to the Ignevan title, but the results would end in stalemates, with the first phase of the wars ending with the Proseyl and Tacelpe states claiming hegemony only for a short 40-50 years, and the second phase ending with Vimicius's Ignesia.

Vimicius' conquests and First Ignesia

Vimicius, born around 137 BE, was born in the Gusel state, one of the three successor states of the Proseyl. At the age of presumably 14, he rose up to the ranks and even to one of the highest positions in the military of Gusel. At 16, according to ancient historians, as there is no record of this event, he overthrew the Gusel in the capital city with an army from Vernero, establishing his Ignesian state in the city, which was named Premas Runuvas, renamed Prima Vimicia in his name.

Vimicius would wage a series of wars against the Ignevan states, known for their efficiency, as his army were the first ever to use gunpowder firearms, and gunpowder as a military weapon in general, the first organized military units were found here, and the first ever resemblance to a midera siege weapon was found in Vimicius' army.

One of his most influential decisions, however, was the splitting of the Nexarnist faiths at the Council of Primae. The Igneiser of the religion dismissed his claim as the successor of Ixar, a primary figure of Nexarnamiste, multiple times, until Vimicius proclaimed the removal of Nexarnamiste as the state religion and the installment of "Mondical Nexarnamiste" (nowadays known as "Nexarnism") in its place.

Vimicius would establish what modern historians call the "First Ignesian Empire" or simply "First Ignesia", the Ignesian state in the era between Vimicius and Xernos. This empire would stretch the entirety of what is now called Vimicia, and is the largest state in history beside today's Ignesia themselves. The period succeeding Vimicius would at first devolve into strife and rebellion, but would be promptly reunited by his grandson, Uvylaxe.

Since Uvylaxe, the post-Vimicius period would witness one of, if not the, greatest cultural booms in world history, and when major sites of architectural grandeur such as the Ixarene Senctier and the Exa Runuv Igneza were built, which the famous gold-lined marble arthchitectural style would take inspiration from during this era. Philosophy and science under the Vrenexean period would significantly shape modern Ignesian values and would be an influence in Ignesia even 2100 years later, arts would be unrivaled in terms of influence in popular society, with the golden sculpture of Vimicius, owned by the House of Vimic, considered "the most valuable piece of art in the entire world".

First Ignesia would enter another period of strife during the 200s, when major rebellions by Vernero peoples were quelled by the Ignesian state, but would lead to seccession of many parts of Ganderna and Vernero. The slow but devastating decline of the First Ignesian Empire ended in 392, when Xernos ascended to the throne through usurpation, and would precede the Vecepere.

The Vecepere

The Vecepere is a period in Ignesian history characterized by constant hostility and the reconquest of periphery territories that defected as a result of the rebellions of the 200 s AE and Xernos' usurpation. The main adversary of Ignesia during this time was the states that followed the Nexarvishten religion after the Xernesian Schism that coincided with Xernos' ascension. The Nexarvishten faith acknowledged that Vishter, brother to Xernos and "true heir" of Ignesia, was the rightful ruler of Ignesia, and actively rebelled against Ignesian authority for over 800 years.

The Ignesian state fell into a era of stagnation and the loss of central authority over many regions, with factions vying for Ignesian primacy, and some vying for the dissolution of the nation entirely. Culture fell into a dark age, although the restoration and preservation of pre-Ignesian texts would take hold in society during this time, and the technological advancements of the nation at that time primarily contributed to only warfare. Society was more or less transformed into a militaristic oligarchy of the nobility and the elite of Vimicius' dynasty, constantly at war to reclaim the territories that seceded.

Outside of Ignesia, new powers would be birthed during the turbulent times of the Vecepere. The Vetrelser Empire was the main adversary of Ignesia for most of the Vecepere, and constituted what is today Veltrensen. The Khuxe and Iylpeve vied for control of the Bay of Desece, establishing themselves as maritime powers that facilitated trade in an otherwise warring continent. These states would also contain a early form of today's Ignesian political system, with a aristocrat head of state and a democratic head of government sharing power in the nation.

During this period Nexarnism would morph into a faith much more recognizable to today, with traditions such as the Voxovere and Xestemen taking root in this time. The Mondical Senctier of Nexarnam, the preeminent church of Nexarnism, would involve itself into politics much like the present day. Nexarnist theology and philosophy would begin to shape itself, with people such as Ferluxus Xanape and Erleyl Pasex contributing to the theology of the Ignesian religion.

Eurrenean contact with Ignesia

The first contact with Eurrenean and Ignesian peoples was in 913 BE, when the deceased emperor of the Liexe Zheynes that ruled 28 years before his body was found in the coasts of Desece. An Ignesian pirate band accompanied the body as they tried to cross the Visivean Ocean, and would come in contact with the Zheynesian people in the city of Nhasu. Soon after this, multiple expeditions by both privateers and the Ignesian military would also establish connection with the Zheynes, and eventually with the other Eurrenean nations.

Since then, Ignesia and Zheynes became staunch allies since the Prexense pact made in 1182, the longest lasting alliance in history, and the only alliance pre-Denelssene to last until the present-day. The alliance has changed and impacted both nations in many ways; Ignesian places founded in the era, such as Dracenseve and Xheven were named with Zheynesian loan words; Zheynes was the first nation outside of Ignesia that utilized gunpowder; and Ignesia was the first nation to create the modern compass, heavily inspired from the Zheynesians, which invented its predecessor, the fengur. The Zheynes are also one of the allies that helped Ignesia during the later stages of the Vecepere, and was the only nation to aid Ignesia during the Western Incursions. Even, intermarriage between the Ignesian and Zheynesian people would be common, and would result in the Ailexen people.

End of the Vecepere and the Discovery of Ignesia

The conquest of the city of Druvuxe and the signing of the Treaty of Rox Vilne in Vicen 21, 1362 marked the dissolution and integration of the now 750-year old Vetrelser Empire into Ignesia, and marked the end of the Vecepere and the reunification of Vimicia under the Ignesian state. The latter half of the 14th century marked the event of the Great Uvylkheven Purge, when tens of millions of Nexarvishten Ignesians were forced to convert or be executed. The death toll of this event is estimated to be around 24,000,000-35,000,000, the largest death toll not related to disease or warfare.

Despite the gruesome measures of religious centralization, Ignesia would enter a prosperous period similar to Uvylaxe's era; arts, literature, and culture would enter the Maxiten era, where a departure from classic ideals and philosophies and the exploration of ideas that branched out from Nexarnist status quo would occur. Books such as the Hegnexen Rox would become a staple of Ignesian society of the day. This period would also lead to the first signs of industrialization with the advent of early forms of electricity and steam motors. Maritime trade between Ignesia's cities as well as Eurrene became widespread.

In Ceveos 3, 1529, A group of 13 men, which included the Niesker man Denelssene would venture ashore to Ignesia, and arrive in Dracenseve, Ilvane. On the return to Avanere, a storm would leave Denelssene the only man surviving from the trip, and would seek services from the Hysantean, Kesarean, and Naralian governments to fund another endeavor. Only Hysante and Naralia would accept the offer, and by 1535 over 100,000 Naralians, Kesereans, and Hysanteans would live in Ignesia, and many approaches by Avanere states would push the relations between Ignesia and the Avanere kingdoms to hostility.

The Western Incursions

A coalition of states, citing Vester Aluxro III's Literae patenter of 1572, would war against Ignesia in a series of conflicts dubbed the Western Incursions in Ignesia, and also called the Great Vimician War in Avanere and many other places. These wars were intended for religious purposes but mostly for concession of what was viewed as prime, rich lands by the Avanere. From the 1572 Literae patenter until the Treaty of Basroulles in 1701, Ignesia was in direct conflict with many Avanere nations for more than a century.

The First Western Incursion, lasting from 1573 until 1599, was one of the more successful attempts of Avanere colonization, with the brief Ignesian withdrawal of Dracenseve. The Second and Third Incursions would prove to be decisive victories for Ignesia, even seizing Keser in the 1637 Treaty of Belev. The Fourt Incursion would prove to become one of the longest and deadliest wars in human history, lasting from 1646 until 1701 and costing around 50,000,000 lives; a death count only rivaled by the World War.

First page of the Treaty of Basroulles

The Treaty of Basroulles in 1701 would see a restoration of the status quo 150 years prior, the indefinite withdrawal of the Avanere kingdoms and empires from Vimician lands, and other conditions. It was seen as the end of the Western Incursions, and led to a period of coexistence that would lead to the largest exchanges of ideas and people in human history.

Post-Incursion Ignesia prior to the World War

After the Incursions, Ignesia would begin a period of cooperation with Avanere major powers, and would exchange people and ideas in a phenomenon that is known as the Avanere-Vimicia exchange, where Ignesian and Vimician arts, ideals, peoples, and religions would spread to both continents. In Ignesia, this period's effects are still widely felt today, as Khrusene is the largest non-Nexarnean religion in Ignesia, with over 110 million practicing the faith.

Ignesia was also a main contributor in the Inarcean War and the Krallic Wars, fighting alongside its ally during the infamous Battle of Cingue. The nation would lean itself into international affairs, and would participate in colonization under the Pecernean period. Its maritime trading histories helped with its involvement in world trade, effectively controlling many economies in Ivasia and Avanere themselves. The contributions of Ignesian cooperation with Avanere would lead to the gradual industrialization of the rest of the world. The Ignesian state would cement itself as a international hegemon, and a world power only rivaled by the Ferrenese.

The rapid development of the Ignesian economy in the late 18th and early 19th centuries would foster the centralization of power to the commercialists, prominently Zhanji Liang and Varcky Crusscerd. Ignesia's response, the Proletariat Revolution, would be a significant step towards democratic institution in Ignesia, as the working class would push for the restriction of the Axemparex's powers and modernization of the industrial sector. Women's suffrage and the end of serfdom would follow this event, almost 50 years earlier than the abolishment of slavery by Ferren, the first nation outside Ignesia to end such a practice.

World War and the Trissala Revolutions

Ignesians manning an anti-aircraft gun in the Battle of Roseilles (1931).

From the start of the war in Novarius 1927 until Junus 1932, Ignesia remained neutral in the World War, with the exception of Eurrenean front. Even before the nation's formal entrance, the Ignesian fatalities and hardship would show disruption to Ignesian society. The New Year's Bombing of 1929-1930 would lead to a formal declaration of war against the Continental Powers, and would be instrumental to the outcome of the war, despite the massive damage Ignesian society would suffer due to the scale of the war.

The consequences of the World War would send ripples across Ignesia; the era dubbed "the Low Generation" saw the population's slow and gradual departure from Nexarnism, traditions would be abandoned, art and literature would enter a dark age. The advent of the nuclear weapon by Ignesia during the end of the war led to widespread dissent once seen only in the Proletariat Revolution a century prior.

Despite the Low Generation, technology would advance in a scale which only the rise of industry in Ignesia would rival. Radio and television would be developed rapidly during this time, and photography technology imported from Avanere would better the Ignesian standard of living regardless. The economy would return to an age akin to the pre-Proletariat Revolution period. In international affairs, Ignesia emerged with an even bigger grasp over hegemony, with the atomic bomb in the Ignesian arsenal, the seizure of many colonies in the Kanage and the obtainment of one of the four seats of the World Primacy in the newly formed Association of Nations. Still, both the disastrous and beneficial consequences of the war are still felt over 90 years later.

After the World War devastated almost all of Avanere, the ideology of Phaternism, first conceived by the Ignesian writer Tanaxendu in 1832, would rise to prominence across the continent. Ignesia would support anti-Phaternist movements across Avanere in an attempt to retain the order brought by the end of the World War, including supporting the LFF (Liberation Front of Ferren) in the Ferrenese Civil War, was a major participant in the Heriese War, and was the main adversary against Phaternist Sevasny under the Reschevenist regime. Ignesia would be the only nation to remain as a non-Phaternist state in the World Primacy.

Post-Trissala and present-day

The Trissala wave of revolutions heavily devastated Avanere, and led to a mass immigration of peoples from Naralia, Ferren, Hysante, Ovessia, and many other nations to Ignesia, and the nation would experience large population and economic growth during the time. The "Great Western Wave", coined by Ignesian Axempavinkhi Lexanar Perescene, would bring many intellectuals to Ignesia. These events would heavily influence Ignesia's trajectory, as men such as Rechdragan Welter and Jean Fabian Delcran helped in developing Ignesia's space program, which would land on the lune in 1976.

The generation that followed the Great Western Wave initiated the Krenger movement, named after populist Meka Krenger. This included the liberalization of societal norms such as drug and alcohol use, rights on sexuality and the legalization of prostitution. In 1980, dubbed the "Year of Three", saw the resignation of Kesene Cegnerox, his successor, Johan D. Matavel, death 2 months later, and a brief abolition of the Ignestex.

The end of the millennium also brought an end to the Phaternist regimes of Avanere, and the Avanere-Vimicia Cooperation Group would be formed, a military alliance headed by Ignesia. Leaving Ignesia as the lone superpower of the world, the nation would participate in the Ovessia-Zheynes War after the attack of Huefeng Square in 2004. The attack possibly caused the stock market crash of 2005, although Ignesia was left unharmed due to the policies of Iosan Lexense.

Geography

As the largest nation in the world with a land size exceeding 110 million square kilometers, Ignesia is home to immense diversity in terms of its geography. Containing land in both poles and the equator, Ignesia is home to savannah such as the Ikhverneter Lands, high mountainranges such as the Exaveseher, and plateaus like the Jaxar and Ivus-Resevepe landforms. Despite the differences of geography in Ignesia, the majority of the nation and continent is occupied by plains, grassland, steppe, and floodplains.

Ignesia has vast holdings of waters through the lakes and rivers that go through Vimicia, about 168 million km2. The nation exports the most water out of any nation, 68% of freshwater is from the continent. These waters led to a very agriculturally rich society able to sustain a large population. The rivers of the nation, including the Shapene and the Lunevey, border the most populous cities of the nation. Ignesia also has its share of deserts, most notably the Pelekh desert.

Health

Uvylnus United Medical Facility, located in Xernesia.

The nation of Ignesia is historically known for its advanced healthcare, with deadly epidemics such as the Jersen flu in the 1650s, despite killing around 25 to 40 million Avanere in the span of a decade, killing only an estimated 2 million in Ignesia. Ignesian healthcare declined in the 1800s and early 1900s, however, until the modernization of the healthcare system would gradually take place.

Life expectancy for men is 82.3 years, and 87.8 years for women, with an average of 85.7 for both sexes. Infant mortality rate in Ignesia is amongst the lowest in the world, with 1.29 per 1000 live births. Ignesia's fertility rate stands at 3.7 children born/per woman, which is above the replacement rate of 2.1.

The nation is known for its universal healthcare, where health services can be accessed without incurring financial hardship. The obesity rate is low; around 9% of the population can be classified as obese, with the average Ignesian BMI around 24.7. In mental health, Ignesia is frequently featured in the International Happiness Index by the AON as one of the happiest nations, ranking 1st in 8 out of the 12 years between 2010 and 2022.

Education

All public education barring the university level is operated and organized by the Ignesian Commission of Education. In the nation, formal education starts at around 4 to 5 years of age. Primary grade school takes around 5 years, and lower and higher secondary school take around 3 and 3 years respectively. Tertiary school is organized in the provincial level.

The educational institutions provided are mixed between the public commission and the private institutions. The curriculum is provided by the Ignesian Comission of Education. Ignesia is known for containing the world's renowned universities and centers of learning, in which education is mostly free, and living expenses paid by both the government and public or private institution through student benefits.

Ignesia is ranked 1st in the ranking of education by the AON, with 65% of residents having acquired a academic degree (most from university & college), the closest to which being New Ferren with 51%. Ignesia also provides adult education, known to be mostly specializing in immigrant integration.

Government

The Ignesian government is a semi-constitutional monarchy, with power shared between the bicameral parliament, the Ignestex, and the hereditary monarch, which currently is Axemparex Lexoskhena.

The legislative body of state is headed by the Axempavinkhi, and is comprised of the Ignestas and the Ignerelas, with a 5 year term limit. The Ignesrelas acts as the lower house of the legislative branch, and 400 seats are occupied by representatives from the subdivisions of Ignesia, which cast their vote based on a referendum from the population of the subdivision, following more of a direct democracy structure. The Ignestas acts as the upper house of the branch, and has a more traditional system of voting. 250 seats are elected through proportional representation, and have no limitations for voting, unlike the Ignerelas.

The monarch has wide-ranging executive authority and control over the actions of the Ignestro, and is also the preeminent religious authority of the majority religion of Ignesia, Nexarnism, but traditionally does not usually wield this authority unless either in a state of emergency or if the matter at the Ignestro is deemed at a deadlock. He or she also appoints, with approval of the Ignestro, the ministries, the main executive branch, which include the governors, who regulate and enforce law and policy in their respective states.

The judicial branch, the Axemperoshex is the highest court in the Ignesian judiciary and is tasked with overseeing the many lower Ignesian courts and interpret law and enforce it if necessary. The 25 judges are appointed by the Axempavinkhi and the Ignestex, and their tenure is limited by a term limit of 10 years.

Subdivisions

The idea of a devolved Ignesia is actually very recent; the Proletariat Revolution would bring upon the nation one of the first proposals for a semi-autonomous state in Veltrensen, which was occupied by the Veltreser Empire about 450 years prior. The decentralization of the state would be put forward alongside the installment of what is today the Ignestex, the country's current parliament, in three divisions; Veser Ignesia (present-day Prima Vimicia, Prexense, Xernesia), Nermeve (present-day Nermesten and Kvalnestos), and Veltrensen. The formation of the six administrative subdivisions would only occur during the era of the Trissala Revolutions.

Although these Ignesian states seem to be completely identical to a sovereign nation in everything but foreign policy, Ignesia still retains 'the right to maintain absolute authority and dismiss, acclimatize, and act upon the order of the state of the nation as it sees fit by the premier governmental agency'. The Ignestex, the Axemperoshex, and the Axemparex all have final say on all policy and decisions, but it is only sometimes exercised.

Ignesia spends around 6.23 trillion nix for their military, the largest in the world, which amounts to around 70% of global military spending.

Ignesia is the only nation that employs aircraft carriers, and also employs many technologies in the military. The Kylrepe missile is one of the most exported anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs) in the world. The Ignesian military also use the Neverepe missile defense system, employed in most cities, which are used for intercepting ballistic missiles and the like.

Science and technology

Historical contributions

Ignesia's scholars, polymaths, and other intellectuals were one of the first peoples to venture and interact with Avanere right after Denelssene's discovery. Ixine Prevexepe was the first ever Ignesian brought to Avanere as part of Denelssene's entourage, and prominent physicist and engineer Jave Vylnevanape as well as astronomer Primossene (birth name Primana Seravanyl), considered the most influential astrologist of the modern era, were part of the first wave of Ignesian's who interacted with the peoples of Avanere.

Before this, the people of Vimicia and later Ignesia was considered to have advanced in writing and technology much faster than the Avanere, as the first ever rendition of an abjad/alphabet was found dating back to 3300 BE, in the Ivasevelerece, and gunpowder weapons were even used in Vimicius' times, 2100 years ago. Papermaking and printing techniques were also found during that era, with the first iteration of a device intended to be a printing press dating back to 151 BE in Prexense.

Many important people who have contributed to fields of technology and science include Ylvan Crexen (creator of the telephone), Trussard Treyranex (regarded as the "father of electricity"), Priylex Venevil (inventor of the phototaker and the recorder), and Rascana Velexeter (creator of the first locomotive vehicle, and a pioneer of freight).

Modernity

2.6% of Ignesia's GDP is used on research and development, totaling up to 2.4 trillion Ignesian nix, significantly higher than its closest comparison, New Ferren, with 986 billion in Ignesian nix. The nation and its people have been a pioneering force for technology and science even until the 21st century, and more scientific papers are published in Ignesia by Ignesians than all other nations combined excluding New Ferren and Sevasny. The nation is considered to have the most advanced military technology compared to its peers, with the Kylrepe ATGMs and the Uvylxam-5 fighter jet class.

Ignesia's space program is considered a pioneering force in the aerospace front. The Uvylaxeperolevr (Uvylaxe Station) is the largest modular space station in orbit, and is made and operated by Ignesia. The first successful missions to land on the lune (1976) and Junese (1992) were organized by the Vyrehece Ignezalevna (Ignesian Space Division), and the nation organizes the International Mission Defense System. The community of general science is well-renowned in their discoveries, with the Theory of Science Aspect published by Leveza Magnacarox in 1983 considered the preeminent base of information in the science community.

Culture

The culture of the people of Ignesia is heavily linked to the connection between religion and state, and most traditions in Ignesian society draw their roots to the early Nexarnist period. Due to this, many historical values are different from its counterparts in the Western World, such as the equality of gender, the meritocratic nature of the state, and the view of property as a necessity in Ignesia. Ignesia is very homogenous in both culture and religion, with 96.5% of the population identifying as Ignesian and 85.9% identifying as a Nexarnist.

Ignesian culture would spread vastly since the discovery of the continent by Denelssene, only rivaled by the rise of Ferrenese culture in the 18th to the 20th centuries, and some call Ignesia a "cultural superpower". The architecture of Ignesia is very distinct compared to the West. Even before the Revolutionary's War, Ignesia was considered a very progressive society, despite the nature of the semi-constitutional monarchy, but after the war would establish major protections to the freedom of speech, freedom of the press, and the like, regarded as the strongest in the world, and is high in the rankings of civil rights and liberty in the world.

Ignesia is also renowned for their art, literature, and philosophy, with minds such as Lorio des Vastaraya, Islexer Shaxepe, Durvel Xansharaterece, and Wilieam Uzba. Ignesia's great monuments are also honored and are built regularly, and famously are known to depict former Ignesian monarchs. Ignesians have a strong sense of patriotism, and venerate the military and its veterans and patrons.

Literature

Rivaled only by the Zheynesians, Ignesia is famous for their literature and heavy focus on philosophy and nonfiction. But before the modern era, the nation's writers and playwrights were especially renowned for their works, which included people like Durvel Xansharaterece, regarded as one of the greatest playwrights of all time only beside Vevnev Trenarsky. Especially after the Vecepere, Ignesian fictional works became the face of Ignesia's literature, including Hegnexen Rox (The Firebird) by Jorvax Trestemaxer, Exnavastar by Magen Paxarede, Ilvekeren Caxne Rox (The City of Ilvekeren) by Ivilen Carnacen, and many other works.

Ignesian literature shaped to become its current form when the 1793 book titled "Igneza Exalecatarele Rox", or The Great Ignesian Collapse was made by Vernik Shahsner. Its emphasis of both the problems in Ignesia's society and the problems of the daily Ignesian life sparked the Ignesian Philosophical Age in the 19th century, when philosophy and realism would become Ignesia's mainstream; Tanaxendu birthed the ideology of "Phaternism", which are the state beliefs of many nations today. Primi Elenepexar wrote on externalistic theory and "Priminism", Karcus Naxeruner wrote on collectivist theory, and many others expanded on philosophy on many levels.

Ignesian realist literature would also be developed during and after the Revolutionary's War, but plays and written works from the pre-"Great Ignesian Collapse" period were revisited and would also become forefront and would be rewritten and remixed by many writers and playwrights, from Fenece to Luvanaxe Ylandar.

Architecture

The architectural style of pre-modern Ignesia is reminiscent of Vernero architecture, with the latter's preference of metals as building material persevering even to today's Ignesia. Due to this, Ignesian architecture, especially senctiers, obtain their signature golden lining and marble frames, as shown in the Ixarene Senctier, Exaxernose Rox, and the Iupolex of Vimicius, along with many other examples.

Ignesia is well known for their veneration of past monarchs of the nation through the creation of statues in memoriam of these people. Over 138 statues memorializing former Ignesian monarchs are recognized by the Ignesian government as "sites of heritage and pride". The sculpture of Vimicius is valuated at around 24.1 billion.

Architecture from eras of First Ignesia and the Vecepere remain surprisingly intact, with examples such as the inner city of Ylverneler, which was back in antiquity the de-facto capital of late First Ignesia, remaining mostly unchanged over its 3000-year history. The Great Road of Vimicius, even after 2000 years, still serves hundreds of millions of people every year participating in Voxovere.

Sports

Alongside Ferren, Ignesia is considered one of the two ISC-recognized "birthplaces of sport", with association football, volleyball, ifern, box fighting, and many other sports claimed to have originated from the nation. Even in Ignevan times sport was central to the Ignesian culture, with predecessors of ifern and volleyball written down in many scripts unearthed during the 1993 Rox Havanace archeological discovery.

By most metrics, association football is the most popular sport in Ignesia. 682 million Ignesian citizens living in the nation watched the 2021 Trevex Itevaigneza in full, according to statistics provided by visionIGN. Ignesian national football teams have won more than half of all ISC Nations' Cups since 2020. Unlike the rest of the world, Ignesia's provinces participate in international sporting events, and have their own divisions and league systems ever since the Revolutionary's War, although there are some sports that have exceptions. Some Ignesian association football leagues, like the Exaylvensen, are watched by 1.5 billion globally Regarded as other notable team sports include basketball, ferrenball, baseball, and gredenball, which also have their own seperate league systems and national teams participating in international occassions.

The most popular individual sports include motorsport and skateboarding. Ignesia is considered a pioneer in auto racing, with leagues such as ASI, YSV, HESI, and Ralle Igneza becoming one of the preeminent racing divisions for their category after their inceptions. Many manufacturers, such as Velexeter and Trukhe, hail in Ignesia and are prominent for their motor racing accomplishments. Skateboarding is a very popular "street sport" in Ignesia, primarily in Prexense and Veltrensen, and two-thirds of all ISBCC winners are from Ignesia, including Jon Vankher, Gixen Ne, and Paracepes Javirex.

Many of the most prominent athletes of Ignesia, including Victor Royal, Antone Cxaraver, Gixen Ne, Onex Makhardaga, and Jxe Ylonandar are debated as the greatest ever to play their respective sports, some of them considered the greatest athletes of all time. Ignesia is also known for their strength competitions, and since 1998, only Ignesians have won the World Weightlifting Union.

Ignesia have hosted a multitude of international sporting events over many sports, and invest almost ₦400,000,000 into sporting programmes, according to budget reports by the Ignesian government. Ignesia has hosted the International Sporting Games a record 11 times, and have hosted many different sporting events on several occassions; Ignesia has hosted the football Nations' Cup 6 times since its inception, the INAB Basketball Cup Championship 4 times, major motorsport tracks such as the Savex Prima Vimicia and the Savex Voxovere, and other notable events.

Infrastructure

Ignesia's national rail network, which spans over 4.8 million km, is the largest in the world, and is organized by the government-owned agency IRRNO (Ignesian Rail and Road Network Organization). Around 44% of the rail network (2.1 million km) consist of high speed rail (HSR), also making it the largest high-speed rail network in the world in extension. An average of 477 krh (296 mph) during the usage of major high-speed rail networks also rank it as the fastest in the world. The railway industry sustained massive growth during the 1980s, after the Vetroyskas scandal of 1974 which damaged the market for automobiles, with the Ignesian population leaning more into public transit ever since, with 7.67 billion passenger trips served by the Ignesian rail network.

The seaports of Ignesia and its dominions number over 14000, with the abundance of which contributing to the nation's reputation as a shipping hub. 48 out of the top 50 busiest seaports in the world are located in the Ignesian mainland; with first-place Uvlyneus and second-place Dracenseve topping the list.

Air travel is a very lucrative business in Ignesia, with a market size exceeding 2 billion nix. About 42,000 airports exist in Ignesia, which serve the "Big Five" Ignesian airliners of Airline Vimicia, Ivasken LCC., Ignesair, Airline Phenisks, and JeTreveseve. The nation contains 7 out of the 10 busiest airports, which include Xernesia Internarional Airport, Primanea Airport, and Vimicia International Airport, with the latter of which is the highest rated airport since 2008, and regarded as one of the major transportation hubs of the world.

Despite the increasing reliance of public transport by the Ignesian population, the automotive industry is still a very important part of the transportation sector of the Ignesian economy. 18 million km of road litter Ignesia, the largest road network in the world. It is still the largest producer and exporter of automobiles in the world. Other forms of transportation, such as bikes and walking, have been increasingly prioritized by the Ignesian government since the 2010s, and over 500,000 km of Ignesian biking lanes have been paved since 2008.

Energy

Ignesia is the world leader in almost all major power sources, only excluding coal energy and biomass, classifying the nation as an energy superpower. It has the largest proven gas, oil, and coal reserves, and has the most production per year of solar power, wind power, and hydropower. It is also the largest exporter of all the aforementioned, and produces the most natural gas and oil. It also has the most nuclear power plants in the world at 294, the largest installed wind turbine capacity at around 496 GW, and the largest solar power capacity at around 368 GW.

Since the 1990s, Ignesian energy has been trending towards renewable and nuclear energy, as the contribution of renewable energy sources to Ignesia rose from 12% in 2000 to 33% in 2022, and 121 nuclear plants have been built during 2010-2020 alone. Non-renewables such as coal, which once had 72% of energy share in Ignesia, now only contribute 43%. Hydroelectricity also had rapid growth during this time, contributing 68% of renewable energy.
