Inês Esteves de Assunção (born (1982-11-30) November 30, 1982 (age 42), Inês Vitória Valéria Esteves de Assunção e Teixeira da Ávila) is an Baían Royal Family Member who is the current Queen of Baía Vermelha.

Childhood, parentage, and education

Inês (Full Name: Inês Vitória Valéria Esteves de Assunção e Teixeira da Ávila) was born at Hospital São Taís in the Federal District of Torres Vedras on November 30, 1982 at 11:29pm BVS. Immediately following her birth, she was declared heir apparent to the Baían throne through her father, the incumbent King of Baía Vermelha, Isaías. From a young age, Inês was raised with royalty as the forefront of everything. Being the only child of Isaías, and her mother Aline, she was protected at all costs. Princess Taynara, current second in line to the throne, grew up envying Inês, but was always close to the heir-apparent to the throne. Even in school, from pre-school until year six, she attended the Royal Academy of Torres Vedras.
Throughout her childhood, her father would bring her along on state visits to other countries, and so, by the time she was seven, Inês had already visited over thirteen countries. Aline on the other hand taught Inês tennis at the Fortaleza Azul, as well as bringing her to football games across Torres Vedras.

Heir presumptive

Being the only child to Isaías, there was controversy on whether or not she would be considered a part of the line of succession. In the 1930s, Gabriela Esteves de Assunção, was ousted as Queen of the Kingdom due to her being a woman, something that the Parliament of Baía Vermelha (Parliament of Baía Vermelha) was responsible for. There was talk of Isaías being urged to deliver another child, with his brother, Vitor II, being rumored to be proclaimed King instead if he did not.

Although, with controversy surrounding her status in the line of succession, Isaías, still prepared Inês for the possibility that she'd become Queen one day. At age nine, he sent her off to the Council of the King to be trained in the ways of a proper Baían Royal Family member. Shortly after arriving there, in the Royal City of Marinha Grande, Inês was taught the ways to be a 'proper Queen', however, it was discovered by her father that the Council were teaching her to be a proper Queen Consort. Rather than learning about diplomacy and political debate, for example, he learned of Inês being taught about cooking and bearing children.

Immediately, Isaías discharged three members of the twelve member council, and ordered that they teach her to be a Queen rather than a 'Lady'. In response, two more members of the council resigned due to 'disagreeing opinions'. This was the lowest member count that the Council had had since the Hours of Silence in 1887, when eight council members were killed alongside three members of the Royal Family by Republican rebels. After four more years in Marinha Grande and with the Coucil of the King, Isaías ordered Inês to be moved to the Royal City of Sombra Verde. There in Sombra Verde, she was taught by Isaías' uncle, Vitor-Renan, who agreed whole-heartedly to teach the young royal to become Queen.

Reign

On December 8, 2000, only eight days after Inês' 17th birthday, Isaías died from a sudden heart attack. Immediately, the Council of the King was thrusted into action, in which they aimed to crown Isaías' brother, Igor-Cássio, as King of Baía Vermelha. At the last moment, the Parliament of Baía Vermelha voted in favor of allowing a woman to be monarch of the nation. In doing so, the Council were forced to crown the seventeen year old Inês as Queen of Baía Vermelha.

In 2001, due to the fact that the royal line ended with her unless she mothered children, she married a fellow student while attending the Council's Academy in Marinha Grande, Tiago Espíndola. With pressure by the press and government, the couple welcomed their first daughter, Valentína, to the world on October 13, 2002. Immediately, Valentína was confirmed to be the Heir Apparent by her parents and the Council of the King.
