Capital punishment in Garetolia

Capital punishment in Garetolia is banned by the Garetolian Human Rights and Discrimination Act (GAHRDA), a law passed on 13 August 2007 by the Parliament of Garetolia with a 434-166 vote. The law specifically states "no crime is worthy enough of the death penalty". This generated some controversy at the time, when some far-right groups such as the Brotherhood of Garetolia opposed the decision labelling it as a "radical, leftist decision" when others mostly expressed support for the ban.
