Sabrican Garayev (Russian: Сабрикан Гараев; tr. Sabrikan Garayev, Tatar: Сабрикан Гарайев) is a Soviet politician of Tatar ethnicity serving as the General Secretary of the CPSU since 2010. He was previously the Deputy General Secretary from 2007 to 2010 and served in numerous positions in the governments of Tataria and Russia.

Garayev was born during the later years of Joseph Stalin's leadership. His father was a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, notable for participating in Operation Koltso which resulted in the end of the Battle of Stalingrad. His mother Liana worked at Krasnoye-Sormovo Factory in Gorky, the two met in 1949 and later married and had Sabrican during a visit to Naberezhnye Chelny in 1951. He, like most able-bodied men due to conscription served a 2 year draft when he reached the age of 18 in 1969, serving in the Soviet Army. After his draft ended, he joined the CPSU and the Komsomol, eventually rising to become a First Secretary of Tataria's local Komsomol. His career in politics beyond Komsomol came when he was elected as a deputy in the Supreme Soviet of Tataria in 1985. His youth at the time and his father's reputation allowed him to secure his presence in the Supreme Soviet by the time the 1990 elections were held. In 1995 he was promoted Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of Tataria. His rise from regional to national politics came when he was elected directly to the Congress of the CPSU in 2000 and later the Secretariat.. General Secretary Yegor Ligachev appointed him as deputy secretary in 2007. In 2010, at the 33rd Congress of the CPSU, he was elected as General Secretary.

Sabrican's tenure as General Secretary has seen large revitalization of the Soviet space program and the increasing digitalization of the Soviet Union. He is a proponent of the Computational economic planning system, which relies on artificial intelligence and computers to advise planners of Gosplan on Five Year Plans. Under the motto of "Tsifrovizatsiya" (Digitalization; commonly abbreviated as "Tsifroviza"), Garayev oversaw mass digitalization of the Soviet Union, increasing internet usage across the Soviet Union by over 60%- mainly targeting the Central Asian republics.
