Symbis, officially Republic of Symbis, is a fairly small independent nation with a population of over 7 million people. It currently consists of 10 districts and the capital. The republic was founded in 1941 after the unification of several entities with various levels of autonomy, some being colonies and some independent.
Symbis is a constitutional republic that provides its citizens with universal healthcare and education, the protection of civil rights, low wealth gap and very liberal drug laws.
History
Geography
The landscape of Symbis is mostly flat and forested. The country could be essentially divided into 3 main geographical regions: the lowlands, the Symbisian Plateau, and the Symbisian Karst. The highest peak of Symbis is Mount Ridgeberg (1,447 m).
Symbis is well known for its massive rivers that are very important for Symbisian energetics, developed fishing industry, water transport, and tourism.
Politics and Government
Symbis is a democratic constitutional republic with a bicameral parliament. The 201-seat lower house is called National Assembly and includes the official head of government with the title 'President of the National Assembly'. Tribunal, the upper house, has 91 seats. The title ' Tribunal' was adapted in 1943, replacing the previous 'Senate'.
Members of the National Assembly are elected for 3 years. it, after the 2018 elections, it consists of: Social Progressive Party (81 seats), Liberal Party (50 seats), Libertarian/Conservative Coalition (23 seats), Social Democrats (19 seats), Mutual Party (15 seats), and Green Party (13 seats). Current President of the National Assembly is Anika Harris-Lajoie of SPP.
