Alexandra Selena Mariposa-De'Plessier is an Inyurstan celebrity. She is known for her modeling, as well as her recent career as an actress.
Personal Life
Alexandra Mariposa was born in Nuveau Lyon to a middle class family. According to her, she was actually called "fat" and "ugly" in later primary schools and l'escola (high school). Her interest in dancing began at a young age, and she continued with her passion into college and her career. She attended Université Provençal de Copênya on the north coast of Marindino where she majored in economics. After college she went directly into her career as a model/actress.
She is currently dating pro-surfer Rafael Martín.
Career
Mariposa's first modeling job was actually for a start up bar in San Cruso owned by a mutual friend. The commercial was filmed by homevideo and she was payed just 30Y$ for the day. However, fortunately for all involved the rudimentary nature of the commercial actually garnered much attention and support from local and regional potential customers. After shooting several more commercials, she earned the unofficial title "That caipirinha chick from San Cruso", yet it was enough attention to score her a modeling gig at a boat show in Nuveau Lyon. She would later go on to work with fashion shows and even did a sunscreen billboard shot.
Her acting career started with the politically-charged comedy "The Film Job", in which her character helped an escape plan from Terten's Asignese terror. Afterwards she played in "Fillas de la Bandîtés" (Daughters of the Bandits) a film about the treatment of women under the Solvereux regime. She also cameoed on a drama about the ISD and was cast as a recurring character on the hit series "Communistés Canibáls" where she played the deceased lover of one of the main characters who appeared to him in flashbacks and hallucinations. This was the second time she played on screen with personal friend Sierra Fujimori. In 2015 it was announced she would have a major role in an upcoming suspense drama by director Lucas Corillien.
Lesser known about Alexandra is her status as a dancer. From a young age she was interested in dance, and found time between school and work to continue her passion in college. In 2014 Mariposa and her partner won the regional contest for Marindino. She is advanced in Salsa, Tambas, Raçán and Tango. Her favorite and most proficient form of dance is Flamenco.
The tabloid magazine Nuveau Métro labeled her "Most Beautiful Inyurstana 2017".
Politics
While she has never officially endorsed any one candidate or party, Alexandra Mariposa is a vocal advocate of decreasing voter apathy and has urged everyone to get out and use their vote. She did post several pictures of her and her boyfriend sharing a drink with would-be Subprésident Alvaro Delacroiz and his wife. However, she has not made any comment on who she later voted for.
Alexandra was a not-so-outspoken critic of a Nihonese law which banned "immodest clothing" for women. As part of a large protest against the fellow SACTO nation, she posed topless holding a sign that says "immodesty is a state of mind, not a fashion choice".
She has also done volunteer work, including donating and helping to raise money to repair a small fishing village destroyed by a hurricane, and is known to volunteer at a Fjorda De'Rivera soup kitchen.,
