Matiana, officially the Matianese Commonwealth is a sovereign state in eastern Serica. It is located in the easternmost part of the Qiong Peninsula, the southernmost peninsula of Serica and is bounded by ?? in the west, the Jade Sea to the north and the ?? Ocean to the east. Its geography largely varies between the Central Range, which have some of the highest mountains in Serica, and the coastal lowlands to its south and northeast, where the vast majority of its population live.

Matiana is considered to be the urheimat of the Matianic peoples, a linguistic family which would spread to Masiga and western Lautania. Qi colonists from Huajiang would arrive from the 6th century CE onwards, settling much of the northern coast and assimilating much the native inhabitants there...
