Kouralian Legions

The Legions of Kouralia are the principal combined arms fighting formation of the Royal Kouralian Army.

History

Since the earliest ancient and classical eras, the 'Legion' was defined as a Kouralian fighting unit. Originally the Kurtonian Republican Legion was the term for the full military of the city state, but as the fledgling empire's territory expanded so to did its defence needs. Legions gradually developed into a specific formation of around 5,000 heavy infantrymen who were organised along prescribed lines and were supported by other combat formations. Each legion had organic engineering, artificier, artillery, logistics, pastoral and other support elements, and was self-maintaining so long as its supply chain could be maintained. Armoured Legion

Armoured legions are the largest legions in the Kouralian Host, and are alternatively called 'Square' formations due to the number of teeth cohorts they possess.
