The Prosperity Party (French reformed: Parti d'l'prospérité), abbreviated PP, is a Gylian political party, part of the Union for Freedom and Prosperity bloc.

History

The Prosperity Party was founded in 1983, during the wretched decade, particularly the point at which the economy was mired in a 4-year contraction.

Initially regarded as a right-wing populist "molehill party", it attracted attention as one of the first parties to attack the Gylian consensus entirely rather than specific parts, instead promoting classical liberalism.

Following the National BlocUnion for Freedom and Prosperity split of 1989, it joined the latter.

The party gained a bad reputation from the fallout of the dérive au droite and neoliberal conspiracy, causing a defeat at the 1990 federal election. It has since remained a marginal presence in Gylian politics.

Ideology

The PP represents the classical liberal formation of the UFP.

Symbols

The PP uses a dark shade of blue as its official colour.
