Lyonheimer, or officially known as the Kingdom of Lyonheimer, is a monarchy in southern [region]Anteria[/region]. It borders [nation]Toubaze[/nation] to the north, [nation]Blechingia[/nation] and [nation]Medovia[/nation] to the north west and to the far south is [nation]Cult of valerius[/nation]. With around 28 million inhabitants, Lyonheimer is a medium sized centrist kingdom. The official language spoken in the nation is Lyonheimerish, however only an estimated 200,000 people even know how to speak the language and most speak Hungarian. The nation is Uralic. Lyonheimer's capital, and largest city is Judapest. Some other urban areas include Juva, Recs and Pyor.

The territory of Lyonheimer was inhabited for centuries by a succession of peoples, including Celts, Germanics and, mainly, Uralics. The foundation of the nation was from [nation]Blechingia[/nation] when Lord Alfred Heimer led his followers to a new land over the Lübbenau Mountains. The nations independence to make it the country as it is today was later on, when the nation became established. The declaration was written by King Martin II on the 18th of July 1784. Here is an extract of the declaration

"A dokumentum aláírása azt jelenti, hogy Lyonheimer független nemzet, és azt szeretné, ha más nemzetek is így ismernék el."

At first, Lyonheimer was called 'Lyonheimer Empire'. The Empire was lead by the King and never got into any wars, remaining neutral during the majority of history.

During the 1900s, they had an industrial revolution in which the nation turned into one of the leading car manufacturers in [region]Anteria[/region].

Mount Versaves in the North, on the border with [nation]Medovia[/nation], is the nations highest point at 5,281m. Another geographical landmark is Lake Folotton

Due to Lyonheimer's history, culture and prominence it is classed as a middle power in global affairs . . . . .

[list][i][url=http://www.nationstates.net/nation=ponderosa/detail=factbook/id=97593]History[/url][/i][/list] [b]BC[/b] Evidence of small Neanderthal tribe-like communities can be found in Northern Lyonheimer, near the Aedratic River. These early men left behind small tools, such as flint headed axes and longbows. Small stone shacks along the river can still be seen, along with small cave civilizations.

In around 600BC travelers from modern day [nation]Tytherial[/nation] arrived in the land from their island on small early boats.

[b]AD[/b] The first proper civilization in Lyonheimer was in the late 9th century, where nomads from [nation]Blechingia[/nation] who were led to the land by Lord Alfred Heimer, a proud leader. He lead his followers and began construction on what is now Judapest, which they called Geraldia. The city began as simple huts each of the followers had constructed but became bigger over time as many wanderers ended up settling there and the original followers had children.

Alfred Heimer's project at the time was to build a cathedral, this would be the center-piece of the city. He spent 15 years building the cathedral, as he was an extremely religious man who believed that, if he built it on his own, he would be accepted into heaven. The church was built out of the limestone in the area, which the place had a lot of. After the 15 year build progress, he completed the cathedral, which stands to this day as one of the landmarks of Lyonheimer.

Lord Alfred Heimer later became Saint Alfred Heimer when the Catholic church recognised him as holy for the single-handed construction of the church. He will be more important past the time of his death.

[u][b]Dark Ages[/b][/u] The Dark Ages started at the same time period as neighbors [nation]Blechingia[/nation], however ended a while after and lasted longer, ending in the 1600s. It started with very unfortunate circumstances, a plague spread through Eastern Lyonheimer, starting in hamlets, villages, farms and towns but advancing to Judapest, the only city at the time. It began to spread like wildfire within the nation.

Symptoms of the Heratic Plague include, itchy skin, rashes, vomiting and extreme stomach ache. After around three days the virus would have killed a majority of the people who got it. The virus became a real problem in the city, because of the close quarters housing it was a real problem. The virus lasted for around a hundred years killing almost half of the countries populations and to this day is one of the worst plagues [region]Anteria[/region] has seen. This gave this time-period the name 'The Dark Ages'...

[u][b]Era Of Prosperity[/b] [/u]

The Era Of Prosperity was took place after the Dark Ages, after the plague and it was the begging of the rebuild for the nation. It started in the early 1700s, when Queen Antal turned the nation around. She started by ordering the construction and building of many homes and buildings in the cities and towns. She can be credited for the size of the cities in the nation.

The Era of Prosperity is also known for the 'Judapest Economic Peak' which was the height of economy in the nation. During this peak, people were immigrating to the nation just to make profit as it was that easy to make money. Under Queen Antal's reign, people were settling and building shops, the need for this caused many to move to the city and the cycle continued until, for a span of a few years, was the trade hub of the region. They also adopted the Fornit at this time

This time was most notable for the independence. Before this period, the nation was not a recognised country. However, it was a region of [nation]Blechingia[/nation]. With a vote in January 1874, the people of the region voted for independence. Under pressure, Queen Antal resigned from queenship leaving her son, Martin, the king. As the sixteen year olds first act as leader, he signed the declaration of independence, making the nation officially independent, and being named Lyonheimer. The name was decided, Lyon coming from the languages word for 'brave' and heimer coming from Saint Heimer, the ancient legend of the lands. The flag was drafted first by artist Fredrick Walker, with the symoblism of the flag as the red represents the blood of the people, the white the clouds and the green the fertile lands. The symbol in the middle is a turul, the national animal.

[b]Industrial Boom[/b] The Industrial Boom occurred after the Era of Prosperity and was the time the nation began to industrialise. Factories began to be built as Lyonheimer wished to keep up with the rest of the world. Factories boomed as the working-class rushed for jobs as farming began to go out of use. The condition were often dangerous and sometimes even deadly. The main thing that Lyonheimer manifactured was cars, and a lot of them. The transport industry supported the nation through these times too. Even children were allowed to work in factories, and some parents encouraged this

This was the time that the nation went from horse and cart to car and train. Boats were also manufactured and the first plans for planes had been drafted up. This era was, surprisingly, not as long as most industrial revolutions, lasting only 30 years, until the 1940s.

[b]The 1950s[/b]

The 1950s was the height of Lyonheimer civilization, population booming, factories mostly shut, radios, telephones. It was a great time for the country.

Jobs started to become more safe and secure. However, the biggest change in this time was the change of government. While still having a monarch, the nation was changed to have the Prime-Minister as the main runner of the nation, so that the monarchs are more of a show.

[b]Modern Era [/b] The modern era was the beginning of the 1960s to present day. Most of this stage of Lyonheimer's history is just advancement and technology getting better. Not too many major events have yet occurred in the modern era... . . . . .

[b]Football[/b] Football is the national sport of Lyonheimer, and holds a special place in the peoples hearts. The nation has a proud sporting history, dating back to the late 1800s and football was always the nations frontrunner. Football, or as some call it 'soccer', began in the nation as the LHFA (Lyonheimer Football Association) was founded in 1889 and the football league began in 1892. The Lyonheimer league was one of the best leagues in the world at the time, as most young boys from the nation would aspire to be a footballer. Lyonheimer's highest finish in a World Cup is Semi-Finalists in 1954, when Ferenc Puskas netted a brace but they still fell.

Famous footballing icon Ferenc Puskas is from Lyonheimer. He is known for being, officially, the all time record goal scorer in all of [region]Anteria[/region]. Puskas was a prolific scorer, who netted 591 times in 631 senior appearances. One of the most famous Lyonheimerans of all time, he went down as a legend in the nation, for his goal scoring prowess.
