Charlotte Kitagawa (20 December 2021) is a Lucian officer currently serving in the Lucis Army as a member of Task Force 141. He is the son of veterans Naoto Kitagawa and Akiko Sugiyama.
Charlotte is the second of Field Marshal Kiriya Kitagawa's grandchildren. Because of this, Charlotte developed a close bond with her grandfather, calling him "Grandpa Marshal" and in return, Kiriya calls her "Lottie". Charlotte would be one of the most gifted of Kiriya's grandchildren, successfully passing bar exams for accountancy until she decided to enlist in the Lucis Army to follow her grandfather's footsteps. Here, she showed herself to be a capable communications officer and often acted as John Yuki Brennan's communications officer. This bond would later lead to a relationship and later, marriage.
Charlotte also has a habit of drinking, which turns her into a different person, to the point of displaying similar mannerisms to her godmother, Sarah Valestine.
