Televen (Venadian: Телевен) is a partially state-owned company in Venadia and the largest telecommunications company operating in the country. The company was founded by the Venadian government in 1972 to consolidate Venadian landlines and establish a superior telecommunications system throughout Venadia, and originally held a government monopoly within Venadia over telecommunications. In 1988, the company was partially privatized and competition opened in the telecommunications sector, and Televen expanded into other areas of telecommunications such as providing internet services. The Venadian government, through the Ministry of Communication and Media, maintain part-ownership of the company and it is considered one of Venadia's "flagship companies". Per 2016, Televen operated in thirty different countries.

Since 2005, Televen has been publically traded on the Venagorod stock exchange.

Operations

Televen operates multiple subsidiaries, including Televen Internet, Televen Plus, Televen Industries and Televen Infrastructure. Televen are involved in the production of computers and cell phones, landlines, broadband and fiber internet service, satellite phone coverage and more. While Venadia is the primary area of operations of Televen, Televan also operates throughout Ardania and in several other countries globally.

Corporate Affairs

Televen is headquartered in Venagorod, the capital of the Republic of Venadia. While originally a state-run enterprise, the majority of shares are publically traded and owned by private individuals and groups as of 2016, with the Ministry of Communication and Media only owning 28.1% of shares. Since 2008, Televen has been headquartered in the TeleCentre in central Venagorod, an eight-story office building opposite the Academy of Art.

Countries
