The Federal Assembly is the bicameral legislature of Zitasso and consists of the Popular Assembly and the Consiglio. Both councilors and representatives are elected by direct election. The popular assembly is based on population, while each state has 5 councilors no matter population, asides from the Federal District, which has one councilor.
Members of the Federal Assembly must be 18 years old (Pop. Assembly) or 40 years old (Consiglio), have been a citizen of Zitasso for 5 years, and must be an inhabitant of the state they represent. Members in both chambers may stand for re-election an unlimited number of times.
