Overview

Despite having the teams (Antres FC and Vovilveante XCT) introduced into the Shodiax League 27 years apart, the rivalry easily beats out any other rivalry in its popularity by a longshot. To have a long history put short, the two teams have peaked and dissolved talentwise at very similar points in history. Since 1982 (2 seasons after Vovilveante XCT was first introduced as a club), these two clubs have never been relegated to the Vaitrel Iede. Another big factor is that the two current owners and (at the same time) head coaches started their careers with their current team and never left since their introductions in 1989, also mentioning the fact that the two were good friends from middle school 'till college. From this point forward ANF refers to Antres FC and VOX refers to Vovilveante XCT.

Performance

The first thing that comes to mind when mentioning similarities between the clubs is their accurately similar performance levels since Vovilveante's entrance into the Shodiax League. To have it put short:

80-81 ANF lower part of Piruen, while VOX being first introduced into Shodiax as a whole and established as elite in vaitrel until promoted at the end of their second season ('81) to Piruen. 82-86 Both teams quickly gain talent and in '86 ANF was 3rd ans VOX was 4th. 87-92 Every one of these years both teams were in the top 3, including VOX winning 87 and 92 with ANF winning 88, 89, and 90. 93-96 VOX continues as a top 3 team including a win in 95, meanwhile ANF takes a small step back, usually placing 5-9th. 97-99 VOX matches ANF's stepback in the standings, both teams going as low as 12th in the standings each. 00-02 Both clubs rapidly gain talent, going trom higher bottom half to mid top half. 03-04 Both teams grab multiple talents from free agency, giving ANF a win and VOX one the next season. 05-09 Both clubs maintain their reputation as good teams, ANF winning in 07 and VOX in 08. 10-11 Both teams take a small step-back, placing 4th-7th both years. 12-14 VOX makes huge improvements thanks to free agency, and is given the title of a dynasty, winning 3 straight. Although ANF stays in that mid top half position. 15-20 VOX stays a majorly talented and practically unbeatable club, while ANF also makes deals to put them as a well-made match for VOX, despite only winning '17 and having VOX win all the others in this period. Current Both teams have stepped back, ANF drastically more than VOX, ANF projected to go mid-pack this season and VOX thought of to take 2nd in the standings.

Icons

The factors that made this rivalry one of the most interesting in Anteria.

2010s

As expected, the way this rivalry existed was the relationship between owners, however the reason it really picked up was due to both teams' success during the 2010's. During this time, Adriun Harrison, starting his career, twice a year faced Haivord Lavvund, at the peak of his career. These talents were accompanied by other more minor talents, VOX including Vaizek Czaxv, the best goalkeeper and arguably the best football player all-time in Anteria. ANF was given Kermotta Stantlei, who was a perfect match for Lavvund, and controversy still exists today about just which was better. Later in the 2010s, VOX gained Jaiien Jaitleii, who officialized the upper edge. Despite VOX's dominance in this era, the rivalry itself was tighter than ever, since both teams were fighting for not only bragging rights, but the title, time and time again.

Harrison v. Lavvund

This is really just a branch off of what was mentioned above. These games in the 2010s often deciphered in fans' eyes who was the best forward of all time. Of course, it was hard to tell because these players never played each other at both of their peaks. These two players alone could have a decent amount of Anteria tuning in, instead we have been grateful with other great players on both sides making the matchup even more exciting. Harrison is one of the most intense forwards to play the game, and that's what most people think to make the difference. When on offense, he'll do anything to play his part for the team, almost never letting the ball go to the other team when in his responsibility. Even though his leadership is lacking, he sets a superb example of how to play in a game for his teammates. Harrison holds the record in Shodiax Piruen Iede for most goals in a season- 42. On the opposition, Lavvund was a team player. Although Stantlei had better position stand-out statistics, this was mainly because of Lavvund's inability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. However, when attacking, Lavvund's passes and dribbling skills were put to perfection, never losing stride. Lavvund also took a strong hold in the leadership role. Between the two, because of Lavvund's lack in shooting leads most to believe Harrison is/was the better player.

Lavvund Trade

At the beginning of the 20/21 season, Haivord Lavvund knew that he was nearing the end of his career. Noting that he has only won one title in his famous career, he proposed a trade to Antres' rival so that he could have another title to his name. A very disappointed Antres agreed, and Vovilveante bought off Lavvund for the season. VOX went on to expectedly win that season. After a couple games in the preceeding season (21/22), Lavvund felt a bit homesick from ANF, and was granted his request to move back. ANF was elated, noting that Stantlei had retired in the offseason.

Stulnts Borthers

Back in the late 1980s, Loustic and Alic Stulnts were introduced into the league precisely one year apart, the foremost and oldest going to ANF, the latter and youngest going to VOX. Both players proved vital for their teams' success, Loustic slightly more than Alic, due to ANF's lack of other talent. Obviously Loustic peaked first, leading ANF to a title in 87 and with the help of Turstihb in 92. Alic had more of a longevity for his peak, leading VOX to 3 straight titles in 88,89, and 90. This sibling rivalry contributes to the hateful rivalry of VOX and ANF.

Geographical Influence

Even geography plays an influence on this rivalry. These two cities, Vovilveante and Antres are 1st and 3rd on population in Hiblund, with much of their features similar of each other, although Vovilveante's population is eight-fold one's of Antres. Although they aren't that close to each other, their statistics regarding environment, layout, and HDI are almost identical. They even have the same river running through them.

Jan 5, 2019

When a younger fan thinks about this historic rivalry, the first thing that comes to mind is the second game of the 18/19 season. Coming into the match, the teams were 1,2 in the standings. Both teams had the record 23-6-3 before the game of the 33rd matchday. As for differential, VOX was ahead of ANF by a full 12 goals. The odds are that whoever winds up winning would end up with the title. Earlier in the season, the game had ended in a draw 1-1. Now the stakes are higher. The game started off intense, with the ending of the first half portraying a dead even score of 0-0. Harrison and Jaitleii (for VOX) had some great chances, however Unstel (keeper for ANF) batted them away. Abilia (ANF) also took a shot in the first half. However, in the preceding half VOX got off to a hot start, with Lombard striking in the first goal of the game, no assist associated. After that Lavvund (ANF) had two real chances and a chance from Jaitleii (VOX). Then, at the 81st minute, VOX put the game away with a goal from Harrison, assisted by Allaine. The match resulted 2-0, VOX proving victorious over the game, later the season, and ultimately the decade. After the game, a drastic contrast of emotions arose from the crowd, those being of expectation. It was at this moment that declared VOX dominant over the 2010s.
