Matviy Loka (born 15 July 1968) is an Elbresian politician and journalist who served as the Prime Minister of Elbresia from 3 October 2015 until 7 August 2022. A member of the Liberal and Democrat Party, he was the last member of the party to be Prime Minister during the 18th Republic, which was a span of 30 years from 1992 to 2022 where the LDP held clear majority in the Federal Assembly of Elbresia. He was Prime Minister for three presidents; Sophie Amteès (2015-2019), Gilles Martin (2019-2022), and Alexander Desende (2022). During his time as Prime Minister, he worked to integrate Elbresia's economic policies closer in line with that of the Alliance of Nortuan States. In 2022, fearful of the possibility of a Conservative Party-led effort to leave the ANS, Loka authorized an early national referendum ahead of the planned 2023 election to secure the LDP's majority and retain Martin's presidency. However, the gamble failed and the Conservatives narrowly won, costing Martin reelection, Loka his position, and the LDP majority. Critics point to Loka's misstep in scheduling the early election as one of the main factors in the ANS-Elbresia diplomatic tensions.
