Patrick Smith Cassidy (15 July 1905 - 19 August 2013) was a Gallian officer and author who served distinctively during the Fifth Erebonian-Calvardian Border War and in the Second Europan War.
Cassidy is recognised as the patriarch of the Cassidy family and was particularly close with fellow EWII and WoLA veteran Yukio Kushineda Jr. during their time in the Royal Sandringham Military Academy and both were graduates of Chemical Engineering. His father was a career officer within the Royal Gallian Armed Forces and the young Patrick ought to serve within the military. He graduated in 1926 and volunteered as a career officer in Zemuria and served in the Fifth Erebonian-Calvardian Border War. In 1932, he wanted to volunteer for the Estharian Civil War but found himself too preoccupied with the task given to him at that time. But in 1935, when EWII broke out, he joined with Kushineda Jr. and found himself fighting alongside with the latter. The two also founded the Long Range Desert Group, the precursor to the famous Special Air Service. Cassidy would serve along with Kushineda Jr. throughout the war. Later in WoLA, he served as an officer heading special operations in Zemuria under Field Marshal Sir. Daidoji Kitagawa.
He retired in 1975 following the end of WoLA but he found work as a career author with his memoirs being one of Gallia's best sellers such that his exploits have been studied in military academies throughout Gallia.
