Education in Fourland is divided into three stages of school: Primary School, Junior High School and Senior High School. All three stages are generally compulsory, although some students may be allowed to enter direct training for work instead of Senior High School. Senior High School is then tracked, further divided into Academic Senior High Schools, General Senior High Schools, and Vocational Senior High Schools. Education is either public or private: public, it is free, private, it is not. The vast majority (close to 90%) of students go to public schools.

98.4% of Fourlandians can read and write.
