The Daoan Congressional Republic Navy (DCRN) (Daoan: Hải quân Cộng hòa Quốc hội Đảo Bắc), commonly referred to as the Daoan Navy or DSDF Navy, is the naval service branch of the Daobac Self-Defense Forces (DSDF) tasked to defend the island nation against naval threats, protect its trade routes and primary sea lines of communications. Its duties during peace time include ensuring that maritime security laws are enforced throughout Daobac's territorial waters and claimed exclusive economic zone, in this sense the DCRN has a dual role of being both a naval warfare branch of the DSDF, as well as acting as a coast guard for Daobac. Since its establishment in in 1845, the DCRN has underwent various transformations and modernization efforts. Commissioned vessels of the navy are given the prefix TCD standing for Tàu chiến Quốc hội Đảo Bắc (Congressional Warship of Daobac).

The DCRN's has two primary responsiblities: to preserve Daobac's sovereignty within its territorial waters and exclusive economic zone, and enforce maritime laws throughout its domain. To these ends, and due to its relatively small size, the DCRN has been primarily focused in procuring multipurpose vessels, as well as those that require less crew to operate. Aside from peacekeeping and multinational military exercises, the DCRN has no ambitions to project power beyond the Ozerosi, Karaihe and Kayatman oceans. It has largely maintained a defensive posture, its surface fleet comprised of two landing platform docks alongside destroyers, frigates, corvettes and patrol vessels. Amphibious elements that are maintained are strictly for landing troops on Daoan soil, or for humanitarian & peacekeeping missions abroad. Its aviation assets maintained for maritime patrol purposes as well as stand off weapon platforms for anti-ship combat. In the modern era the DCRN has participated in numerous peacekeeping and humanitarian missions throughout the world, utilizing its Dammay-class Landing Platform Docks to distribute aid and deploy peacekeepers.

Frigates form the primary workhorse of the Daoan navy and thus are key components of its fleet. This however was a more recent development, with that role previously held by destroyer class vessels and the Daoan navy having last operated a frigate-class vessel in 1962. The adoption of frigates in the Daoan navy represents a significant change in Daoan naval doctrine, moving away from heavy vessels with significant firepower, to more agile, lighter, economical but still capable warships. The navy operates two types of frigates: the Independence-class guided-missile and Endurance-class multi-mission frigates. Both were designed by the Daoan shipbuilder Bao Marine, based around its Famolavolana Sambo Modular (FSV) design family of naval vessels. The Independence-class frigates were designed as multirole vessels as its capabilities include anti-aircraft, anti-surface and anti-submarine warfare roles and low radar observability. Its armaments include a 75mm rapid fire gun, four remotely operated 12.7mm machine gun platforms, a single 35mm close-in weapon system, surface-to-air missiles, anti-submarine rockets & torpedoes launched via a 16-cell vertical launching system. It is also equipped with subsonic or supersonic cruise missiles that are launched via two 4-barreled launch tubes on both the starboard and port sides of the vessel. The ship's design was based around the principle of modular naval vessels which was meant to reduce cost and increase efficiency in construction & assembly. Ships of the class are poised to gradually replace a majority the ageing Freedom-class destroyers as the navy's primary surface combatants. The Independence-class represents a major shift in Daobac's naval doctrine, doing away with heavier warships with large amounts of firepower, towards lighter, cost efficient but capable naval vessels. The Daoan Navy ordered a total of ten ships with the first ship of the Independence-class, the TCD Trần Việt Thắng, completed and commissioned in 13 April 2016. A total of six ships have been delivered by Bao Marine with a further four both on order and under construction. The Indepedence-class's modular design meant that it can be modified to fulfill other roles aside as a Frigate, with the Royal Navy of Brumen ordering both the standard Frigate and commissioning the creation of a patrol version of the Independence-class. Aside from the Daoan Navy, the Independence-class and its variants are also in service in the navies of Brumen, Ankat, Kainuinoa and Kajera.
