The Noble prize is an annual prize in recognition of great scientific effort on the fields of medicine, chemistry, physics, law, and social studies. It is by many considered the greatest prize in science and bestows large international recognitions for its winners.

History

Named after Alfred Noble, a particularly hardworking chemist in the break of the 20th century. Noble's discoveries and inventions won him great financial fortune, and his last will and testament provided specific instructions to create the Noble Fund, which is funding the prize money, and Noble Committee, an international committee which decides on the winners.
