Lumakia, officially the Republic of Lumakia (Lumak: Maen kua Lamak [mɛn kua ləˈmak̚]), is a country in eastern Thrismari, bordering Inchyroa to the east and the Gulf of Kouma to the south. Lumakia covers an area of 178,186 km², with an approximate population of 40.4 million. The country mainly has a humid subtropical climate; its capital and largest city is Goroy, with other major cities being Go Ma and Su Lang.

Etymology

The common name Lumakia derives from the term Lamak, which is the autonym from the Lumak language to refer to the majority ethnic group in Lumakia.

History

Lumakia, along with the other nations in the Kouma Gulf region, has been inhabited since prehistory. In the year 1178, Prince Neaup Taen of Go Ma united the Lumak tribes along the Wa River and formed the progenitor Lumak state. His successors would go on to consolidate his gains and further expand outward, eventually resulting with the full conquest of the Phua and Gren river basins under the reign of Prince Jang Taen, who became the first king of the Lumak Kingdom. The kingdom lasted for four centuries, but facing invasions and civil war, it would shatter into warring states for more than a hundred years until the region was colonized by WIP
