The Greenemund is a hill in northern Woodstead and the highest point in the country, with an elevation of 271 m (889 ft). It is the lowest country high point in Astyria. It is the high point of a ridge of Devonian sandstone that stands above an extensive limestone plain. A prominent, forested top, it is visible for a great distance, especially from the south. The Greenemund is part of the Tarrance Hills region, a protected landscape characterised by rolling hills of pastureland with pockets of ancient forestry and a low density population distribution. A beech with an estimated age of 560 years is thought to be the oldest tree in the Tarrance Hills and is found on the Greenemund's southern slope. The nearest settlement to the Greenemund is the village of Turnstile, 2.4 km (1.5 mi) to the southeast.
