Founded by Aurinian computer scientists Tom Perry and Matthias Nieves, it provides Internet-related products and services, including its search engine Cotorra Search, maps and navigation, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, computer software, quantum computing, e-commerce, and consumer electronics. As of 2016, it primarily served audiences in Costa Madora, Esberia, and countries with a significant Esberian-speaking population.

As of 2017, Cotorra was the largest technology company in Costa Madora. It had more than TBE offices worldwide in 2018.
