The 2000–01 Liga Dreamplanet was the 1st season of the Liga Dreamplanet, the top Dreamplanetian professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 2000. The league was contested by 16 clubs and Sporting CD were the defending champions. This season saw a lower points tally as first division clubs didn't get a chance to play the second division clubs like last time.
Sporting CD defended their title while becoming the first club to win the Liga Dreamplanet back to back, finishing ahead of the surprise packages Adina CF who finished only 6 points behind them. Sporting CD also won the 2001-02 Taça Dreamplanet, giving Coerefente the Cygnus Cup spot. Adina CF, Libon United and Mortinenses filled out the Globe Cup spots.
Teams
Much like last season, Dreamplanet's top flight was formed out of 16 teams with Belrem and SL Benrita being the first ever teams promoted, they would successfully stay in the top flight as it was Portende and Linderton FC to get relegated, Barta and Boacity FC were promoted for the 2002–03 season.
