The Rojadavistan Security Agency (Rojadavi: Asayîşa) is the country's domestic intelligence and security agency. It is responsible for counterterrorism, counterintelligence, and investigation of economic and political crimes. The agency regularly coordinates and shares information with the Zanyarî, Rojadavistan's foreign intelligence service.
Jurisdiction
The Asayîşa has jurisdiction over:
- Economic crimes such as smuggling, drug and human trafficking, swindling and fraud, money laundering, corruption, cybercrime, and forgery
- Political crimes including espionage and acts of sabotage and terrorism
Organization
Organizationally, the agency is divided into provincial directorates. Each is led by a Director-General and comprises of a Political Unit (Yekîneya Siyasî), an Economic Unit (Yekîneya Aborî), and a Legal Unit (Yekîneya Hiqûqî). Beneath the provincial directorate are branches that cover several districts. At the top, the General Security Directorate (Rêveberiya Giştî ya Asayîşa) oversees and coordinates their functions. The Asayîşa is under the authority of the Ministry of Interior.
