The 2019 Soviet Union legislative election was held on Monday, 4 March 2019 to elect 2,000 deputies to the Supreme Soviet. The CPSU won over a majority of the seats, but lost 211 seats to independent and non-partisan politicians. As per the 2002 constitution, the CPSU was the only party allowed to stand in elections. Candidates had to be nominated by either the CPSU or a public organization.
