Arthur Damian Sydney Warwick (born 22 April 1966) is a Satavian politician who has been serving as the 41st Prime Minister of Satavia since 2020 and leader of the Conservative & Country Party since 2017. First elected as an MP for the Division of Macklemore in 1998, Warwick resigned in order to run for the Division of Johnson in 2012, inheriting the seat previously held by outgoing Prime Minister Edward Norton.
Born into the prestigious and wealthy Warwick family, Warwick attended Springbank College from the age of 13 until his graduation at age 18 in 1984. Warwick did not complete national service, as he was enrolled into the University of Tolbury in Estmere and was therefore exempt. Upon his return to Satavia in 1988, Warwick chose to pursue a career in politics and in 1989 he was elected as a councillor for the Conservative & Country Party in the Holt City Council in the Orange Province. Soon afterwards, in 1991, Warwick successfully ran for Mayor of Northport, a position he held for six years until he stepped down in 1997 in order to run for election in 1998.
Running for the Division of Macklemore, in the Orange Province, Warwick won a landslide electoral victory in his first attempt. Warwick was prominent as a back-bench MP until in 2006 he was appointed as Minister of Defence, a position he would hold until he was appointed as Foreign Secretary in December 2009. In 2012, Warwick was appointed as Treasurer and would continue to survive various government reshuffles over the next five years, becoming one of Prime Minister Jago Elliot's closest confidants and allies. When Elliot was controversially removed from power by Conservative & Country MPs in 2017, Warwick was also removed from his position as Treasurer by new Prime Minister Ella van Schalkwyk. After Van Schalkwyk's landslide defeat in the 2017 Satavian federal election, she resigned as leader of the Conservative & Country party. Warwick replaced Van Schalkwyk as leader unopposed on March 15.
During his time as Leader of the Opposition, Warwick regularly came into conflict with Liberal Prime Minister Jan McKinley. McKinley's own government was beset by infighting and ultimately collapsed in July 2020, forcing him to call for a federal election election which resulted in a landslide victory for the Country & Conservative Party. As Prime Minister, Warwick pursued a hardline policy on Councilist states such as Chistovodia whilst continuing to follow the key social and fiscal aspects of Nortonism. Warwick called for a second federal election in two years in the 2022 election, which saw the Conservative & Country party lose their majority in the Senate, prompting Warwick to enter into a coalition with the United Party. Warwick appointed PK Lawson as his deputy Prime Minister on the same day, and later also entered into a confidence-and-supply agreement with Satavia First.
