Ateze Provincial University, commonly known as UP, is a prestigious university in Sante Reze. It is also ranked as one of the smaller and most exclusive, accepting approximately 2500 undergraduates per year. Like most Rezese universities, its system is designed to take five years for completion of a standard degree. It is a leading member in the [ORGANIZATION] organization, an inter-house alliance of sponsored universities.

As a house-sponsored university, it is difficult to classify as either public or private, as many nations across the world typify their universities. House Giarelli grants a permanent endowment to Ateze Provincial University, and many prominent figures of the family have attended at some point or another. Approximately half of all caziques in Sante Reze since the university's founding have received at least one degree from Ateze, and many foreign royals have also attended.

Research

Ateze Provincial University hosts Sante Reze's largest research center in high-speed computing, and is a backbone node for [HIGH PERFORMANCE NETWORK RESEARCH], a program for advanced, non-commercial networking capabilities and their creation, demonstration, and evaluation. In addition, Ateze hosts a supercomputer center, albeit smaller than many of those at comparable research universities, as well as hosting and managing the data network for Porte Viro. Access, however, is not available to students or faculty.

The [BIODEVICE DEV CENTER] is headquartered in Ateze Provincial University. The [ACRONYM] has affiliated offices in most universities in Sante Reze, but most of its work is done in Porte Viro.

Campus

It's urban and cramped, with fantastic architecture. Main campus is at the edge of the Porte Viro urban pyramid, using two of the small buildings.

Athletics

Extracurricular activities are very important in Sante Reze, especially at Ateze. Giarelli funding and separate alumni donations has allowed for the installation of a large water complex hosting two olympic-sized pools, one indoor and one outdoor. The Atessa Provincial Water Polo team is noted as one of the best in its league.

Ateze's fencing teams are renowned within collegiate circuits and fare well in most competitions, a stark contrast to their football team, which has been criticized as a waste of lira for their frequent ability to have no-win seasons.

Student Life

The university has incorporated much of the surrounding neighborhood since its inception, especially since a surge in new construction since 2005. The college area surrounding the academic campus provides a large and diverse selection of restaurants, bars, and clubs aimed at the student community, and many of these are owned or operated by university-based businesses and organizations. The university subsidizes local housing, aimed primarily at localizing its student population to cut down on student commuters who might otherwise worsen city traffic and require vast amounts of parking.

Ateze Provincial offers a variety of organizations including cultural groups, intramural sports, student government, and religious groups.

Carnivale, the largest spring festival in Santheres, is celebrated at Ateze Provincial with one of the largest events in northern Santheres, and is partially funded through extra donations from the Giarelli family, who do not hold their own celebration and instead defer to the university's.
