Etymology

History

What is known today as the Commonwealth Kingdoms was once part of the British Empire, it was founded in 1650 by captain buck of the Royal navy and was an uninhabited island, immagration to the CK was slow for the first hundred years with a population of just 50,000 in 1762, the CK saw a steady growth of immagrants from Britain, Russia and China in the early 19th century. In 1995 the CK had an independence referendum and 78% voted to become a self governing country.

Civil unrest and the creation of the crown

In 1856 the country had just recovered from a deep recession which saw protests across the island because of the social divide and treatment of the poor, Jacob longshanks was a farmstead owner and treated all of his workers with respect and gratitude, he pettitioned for civil rights and equal pay for workers across all sectors of work. Jacob soon saw more and more kingdomians supporting him and he soon started to attract large crowds whenever he made a speeches in public, in 1857 the a large riot turned bloody in the Commonwealth city seeing soldiers kill 32 protesters and martial law was inforsed by the governer of the island, with tensions at an all time high the governor met with Jacob seeing him as the only person the populous would listen to. At the meeting the governor asked Jacob what needed to be done and Jacob spoke to the people and got a response that he should be the man in charge, Jacob didn't believe that there should be one person in charge so an agreement came to vote whether he should be joint kingdomians representative of the people, he won the vote.

In 1860 Jacob was seen as the man of the people and there was mass rallies all across the island for him to be given a royal appointment by the British, after listening to the people and not wanting more protests and riots the British monarchy bestowed Jacob the title of King of the Commonwealth Kingdoms.

Independence In 1995 the United Kingdom granted independence to the Commonwealth Kingdoms after 5 years of debats and in 1994 the CK had a referendum with 73% in favour of an independent state from the UK.
