The County of Pelna was a state that existed in the early Middle Ages. It fought a war of secession against Trellin during the reign of Nalaia, in 466, and maintained most of its territory when it broke away, only losing East Idisamo and the lands around Betria. Pelna endured as an independent state until its conquest by the Kingdom of the Isles of Velar in the tenth century. From its capital at Radulin it held a substantial strip of coastline which at times extended north into the Vekra definitely notRetiqa, including the strategic fortress of Rosnai.
