The Democratic People's Republic of Vionna-Frankenlisch was a nation that existed in Cornellia from 1967 to 1980. It was created following the Leftist victory during the Imperial Civil War existed until its dissolution following the Vionna-Frankenlischian War of Restoration, which overthrew the DPRVF's socialist government and restored the old Vionna-Frankenlischian monarchy. During its thirteen-year history, the DPRVF was led by Edgar Howell (often known as Marshal Howell) who served as Chairman of the Socialist Party of Vionna-Frankenlisch. The DPRVF inherited many of its institutions from the old United Kingdom of Vionna-Frankenlisch and maintained some of the old status-quo while heavily centralising the state and implementing major state control over the economy. Its capital city remained in Frankenlisch but many of its administrative centers were placed in industrial cities, rather than their traditional locations (often in large palaces, castles or historical towns).
The DPRVF found its origins in the Imperial Civil War of the 1960s, when a leftist faction led by Edgar Howell overthrew the Vionna-Frankenlischian monarchy and replaced the old government with a socialist-led republic. King Albert and most of his government and close family were killed during the 1967 Battle of Frankenlisch, meeting their fate during the Royalist last stand at the Battle of Parliament Square. The new government was a socialist republic with a legislature known as the Supreme Assembly, the lower house was the National Parliament while the upper house was known as the National Assembly.
