Daunlaund is a federal republic located in the Utopian Continents. It is bordered by Havadar, New Wolvers, Erskiellander, Latuaras, Neviersia and The Utopiani Republic. Daunlaund has a poulation of 53 Million and the capital is Ronicon City.
History
pre history and post modern age
Daunlaund began as the seven provinces of Heliris, Ronicon, Daun, Derosé, Ferús, Nordor and Ereckia. These are todays mainland provinces. The Daunlaund at this time was known as the kingdom of Daunlaund, the industry was made up of agriculture and mining for tin, copper and iron. The kingdom is believed to have been established when the seven cheiftens came together to form one kingdom at the Ronicon Grove around 850ad. In 947ad the current countries of Havadar,Daunlaund, new wolvers (south) and Daarlerveen (northern bit) the empire was called the Dreché empire. It began to crumble in 970ad The king couldnt keep up with his centralizing policy anymore and the nobility began to revolt against him. A lot of them broke away and created their own counties. We call this the First Great Scission. You should know that the empire was enormous. It stretched over whole of modern day Daunlaund, Havadar, Latuaras, the north of New Wolvers and a large part of Daarlerveen. With the 1st Great Scission the king lost whole New Wolvers, a part of Daarlerveen and also the Daunlaundic modern day provinces Heliris, Nordor, Ronicon and Derose. In the 2nd Great Scission of 1125 the remaining (now foreign) parts split away from the Dreché empire. Daunlaund tgen became an independent monarchy until...
Early modern age/ modern age
By 1534 Daunlaund was a fully fledged monarchy. It started to gain land across the Utopian continents, by the 1700s Daunlaund was an emerging empire, it had conquered nearly a half of all utopia. Its main enemies were the Erskiellandrian empire and the Castillian empire and the Reddish theocracy, The Erskiellandrian and Daunlaundic empires had fought many wars but in 1812 Daunlaund decided it would try to conquer northern Erskiellander, a battle proceeded which became a long war. Daunlaund was winning this war until 1816 when Erskiellander be-seiged Heliris city causing a famine which would see a Daunlaundic surrender. From 1819 to 1824. There was the first Daunlaundic republic was an independent republic. In 1824 the monarchy was reinstated under constitutional law, but by 1828 the monarchy was desperatly unpopular and there was a revolution, the new Daunlaundic republic republic was proclaimed in 1830 when the revolution was won a totally independent Daunlaundic republic was born under a new constition and its capital was Ronicon.
The new republic included all of the eighteen provinces from before the empire and most of the territories.
present day
The Daunlaundic Republic became a federal republic in 1926, it made ammends with Erskiellander and ended up in 1951, co- founding the Universal Pact, an economic union between Utopian nations. Daunlaunds economy rose to be one of the wealthiest nations on the continent and it adopted a dyal currency system between the Daun mark and Utopia. Daunlaund joined the Veropan union in 2004 thanks to its territory on Löwe island, Flembaúsen. The capital of Daunlaund Ronicon became a powerhouse and a cultural hub of the Daunlaundic nation. The Daunlaundic language continues to thrivecas does the nation.
Geograpy
Mainland Daunlaund is a very mountianous nation in the North, North-West and North-East. The south is generally more flat with more lakes. To the South-East of the mainland lies Ferús which is a huge port and coastal area, the highest peak in Daunlaund Mt. Ferús is also found here. Vask and Ventroven are very rural provinces. Other Provinces The Islands near San Victoria of Vevertas and Arcadéìa are generally flat, the only volcano in Daunlaund is found in Vevertas. Other islands like Bærn and Wajìné and Portana are also flat. Wajìné is very low lying with swooping valleys. Årgúszt province has steep cliffs and high mountias.
The Daunlaundic climate has been described as temperate. The lowest temperature recorded was -27°c which was recored in Svlvåld (Daunlaundic arctic circle island territory), the hottest was 34°c recorded in The Portana Province in South Utopia. In provinces such as the mainland provinces, the northern island provinces and Lihone province it is mild and somtimes humid in summer with very cold winters, often with snow but mostly very rainey with the highest temperatures being around 12°c. Although this does not apply to all of Daunlaund.
Demograpichs
Population The Daunlaundic Federation has around 53 milion people living within its borders. 96% of Daunlaund is ethnically Daunlaundic. 3% is Havadarian and the other 1% is Neo Wolverian and other Utopian and European ethnicities. In Derosé province there is a small minority of Yugeans from the Yugo state New wolvers. Which makes up the 1%
Languages Daunlaundic is the official language of Daunlaund. 99% of the population speak it and it has 120.7 million speakers worldwide. The language is spojen in not just Daunlaund put also in parts of Pace e Saggezza and Havadar. It is descended from germanic and was influenced heavily by the French and German.
Other Languages There is a language spoken in the Provinces of Portana, Bæren, Wajìné, Vevertas and the Daunlaundic ocean territory dervied from the polynesian settlers that came in the 1800's. The language is called Reo raiona which means "lion tounge" it has 1.77 million speakers 99% of whom are in Daunlaund and Havadar or other Utopian nations.
Religion Daunlaundic people are generally secular but the majority religion is Christianity then Islam. Jews also make up a small group.
Race 60% of Daunlaundics are white or of European or Utopian descent.
25% are black or of african descent.
10% are of polynesian (see Reo Raiona people)
5% of people are of Aisan descent
Government
The Daunlaundic government is made up of a govenor for each Province a secondary advisor fourteen minisrty heads. The government head is the chancellor who is elected every three years. Elections work in a rotation system where the top three of six political parties agree to rotate for a year each. If there is an outright majority for one party then they will do all three years. Party leaders become Chancellor if there party gets a majority. If their party comes second they become scindary administrator (vice chancellor. There are three houses the Dauntagé(parliment), olétagè(senate) and the Volkstagé(peoples senate).
Foreign Relations and Military
Daunlaund has exellent relations with other Universal Pact and VU memvers as well as other nations such as Austrailia and Japan. Daunlaund's main trading parteners are Havadar and Joushiki Nante Iranai. Daunlaund shares a trade agreement with Havadar called the HDTU (Havadarian, Daunlaundic, Trade, Union.) Havadar is widely regarded as Daunlaund's best trading partners.
Daunlaund has a neutral policy but somtimes Daunlaund can't help wether it is for the protexrion of itself or allies get into wars. Daunlaund has the largest navy in the Universal Pact, and a strong army, the airforce is relativly weak. Along with Havadar (HDTU) and the rest of its allies Daunlaund is very strong via military. Daunlaund has been involved in only three wars. The San Victorian War, Saxian War and the Walléìké minor war. (as well as the war for independence) But prefers to be neutral when it comes to conflict.
Economy
The Daunlaundic economy is very strong and relies on tin,copper and iron mining as well as tourism, car parts, engineering, metalwork, food and textiles. It has a growth of 0.6% per year. The two main car manufacturers are Helirì and Wallsteché. The later also makes mobile phones, kitchen appliances, vacums and other tech which has helped the Daunlaundic economy greatly.
Culture
Daunlaund is a multicultural nation, all these cultures have culminated into the Daunlaundic culture we know today.
Sport
Daunlaund's main sport is a Daunlaundic invented one, it is called Viedershelsen. This sport involves hitting a steel ball around an oval field. Players wear steel tipoed gloves to help. To score you must break one of the plasic boards on either ends of the field. These boards are placed some highre than others. Te points available are... 5 points (lowest board) 10 poinys (middle board) and 15 points (highest board). This sport is played by the provinces of Daunlaund and entities of La Pace and Saggezza of Pace e Saggezza. It is also enoyed all over the world. Football and Rugby and Badminton and Swimming are also major sports.
folklore
Folklore is a major part of Daunlaundic culture. There are many Daunlaundic storues that have sold millions of cpoies world wide. Most notably Dahiel Vandreszes chronichels of anonymous.
Infrastructure
Daunlaund has an exellent infastructure. Roads are very well maintianed but tolls on main roads can be expected. The two main public transport services are Lihonébuszé which run public and school buses in all provinces and the privatley owned Daunslink which runs trams, trains, taxis and buses across sixteen of the seventeen provinces but us looking to expand in the future. Normal Daunlaundic towns follow the sttéik plan of 1956 in which the plans for an average town were made under this template. The template includes two sections to a town with one main road running through it. 40% of Daunlaundic towns use this template.
