Delaney Sunderson (born March 19th, 1984) is a New Anean politician who served as the Prime Minister of New Anea from 2019-2023. After graduating in 2000 at the University of Luita, Sunderson completed her studies at the University of Applied Sciences Eblium with a focus on electronics, systems and technologies. She received her diploma as industrial engineer in 2006. She entered politics in 2011, defeating longterm incumbant Anders Rousseff of the Conservative Party (PCNA) representing her district in Elwan in parliament. She was elevated to a senior position in the Social Democratic Party and eventually ran for Prime Minister, narrowly defeating incumbant Steffen Hennig in 2019. When the conservative-led parliament initiated a snap election in 2020, Sunderson and the SDP survived and gained seats, leading to a boost in Sunderson's popularity. However, by 2022, Sunderson's popularity sharply dipped as the New Anean economy entered a recession, the PetroNea scandal engulfed her administration, and Sunderson herself was accused of accepting bribes from high-profile Nortuan corporations. The SDP dropped Sunderson from the reelection ballot in favor of Paul Wasserbaur, who very narrowly won against Oscar Schulberg.
