Ermnbryht Vrihte (born 13 February 1967) is an Alslandic politician and journalist who has been serving as the Secretary of Social Affairs since 13 October 2011 and has been the leader of the National Bloc since 2018.

Between 1990 and 2008 Vrithe was a journalist for Hjoed until she was first elected to the Folkssenaat in 2008 to represent Fawkhamshire. After the 2018 Alslandic legislative election Vrithe defeated Konrad Dünhaupt to become the first female leader of the National Bloc. Shortly afterwards Vrithe also was appointed the Secretary of Social Affairs by Hepke Veltman. After winning the 2020 Alslandic presidential election Veltman resigned as Premier and designated Vrithe to succeed him, although this was opposed by the National Bloc's coalition partners who preferred Ottila Möller. Vrithe endorsed Möller to succeed Veltman and remained as Secretary of Social Affairs in her Cabinet.

Vrithe is the National Bloc's candidate for Premier in the 2022 Alslandic legislative election.

Political positions

Political analysts have described Vrihte's policies as moderate. Media sources have both labelled her as a conservative or a centrist. During the 2018 National bloc leadership election Hjoed claimed Vrithe had made overtures to the party's right-wing membership. As a writer for Hjoed Vrithe supported 'No' in the 2007 Alslandic same-sex Marriage referendum and said civil unions were an acceptable compromise. In 2019 Vrithe became the first National Bloc leader to attend the annual Yndyk Pride parade. In 2020 Vrithe claimed to not hold any official ideology and was instead a pragmatist on many issues and policies. She has defended the reputation and legacy of Villem Mand. In 2021 Vrithe became the first National Bloc leader to openly support the goals of the original ODRE movement, primarily a commitment to democracy and Alsland's multi-ethnic Euclean identity, she however criticised the Movement's later goals of establishing a councilist state in Alsland.

Personal life

Vrihte was married to Þeodricc Feormer from 2008 until their divorce in 2020, the pair had 3 children together. Vrihte is a non-practicing Sotirian. Vrithe is also a supporter of Osgarburgh in the FIHK.
