Florian Claudius, CI IA EOV SFN (Gaius Claudius Nero Asellus Iohnnes Florianus Hadrianus; b. 24 February 1970) is a Latin noble and executive. He is currently the Chairman of FC Imperialis Ianiculum, along with a number of other athletic teams, by virtue of being Chairman and President of Imperial Athletic and Entertainment Holdings. Claudius is a member of the Claudii dynasty, and is the grandson of Latin Consul and general Jason Claudius, Duke of Adrianople.

Claudius has a brief football career, signing for FC Imperialis Ianiculum upon turning 18. He also played for AC Rutupiae while on loan from Ianiculum. His playing career ended in 1994 after tearing his ACL. His football management career began when he was appointed Chairman and chief executive officer of FC Imperialis Ianiculum on 8 November 2014. The club won the league title during his first full season as Chairman in 2015. In 2015 and again in 2016 he was awarded Liga Premier Executive of the Year.

Claudius held a distinguished legal career before his chairmanship appointment, at one point was rumored to be in line for a judicial role. He has occasionally drafted Imperial edicts, which has only become known due to the 2014 Imperial Office leaks where his name was found on an executive order draft regarding papal bulls. It has also been rumored that he served as private legal counsel to Emperor Jason VI Augustus in from 2010 through 2011.

Early life and education

Claudius was born in Valle Aurelia in the city of Castellum ab Alba as the fifth child and youngest son of Duke Isidorus Claudius and Campana Vitruvia. Claudius was baptized at the Pantheon in Castellum on 13 June 1969. Claudius has five older siblings; Philip, Agnes, Honoria, Marcus, and Marina.

Education

Claudius attended Holy Name School until secondary school, later educated by private tutors in lieu of secondary school. He was tutored alongside cousins Prince John of Latium, Princess Joanna of Latium, and Princess Eirene of Latium. After completing his education, he signed a contract with FC Imperialis Ianiculum, forgoing university.

After his football career ended abruptly due to injury, he enrolled at Vigueria College, Haenna where he studied law. Claudius also served as a law clerk for local the Lord of Appeal, Adrian Vibius, during his second and third years, and in the Quaestor of the Palace office between his third and fourth years.

He completed his degree after four years in 1995. However, he later enrolled in an accelerated graduate program at the Alba School of Economics and Business. He obtained a Ph.M in finance from Castellum in fall 1996.

Imperial Athletic and Entertainment Holdings

Claudius has been Chairman of Imperial Athletic and Entertainment Holdings since 8 November 2012 to originally serve as interim chairman for the remainder of the Liga Premier season. Imperial Athletic Holdings and Investments is a privately owned parent company of FC Imperialis Ianiculum of Liga Premier, a number of other athletic teams across various leagues around the world, and numerous entertainment or concert venues.

FC Imperialis Ianiculum

Following the 2013-14 Liga Premier season, FC Imperialis Ianiculum finished mid-table for the third year in a row and had lost six straight games at the start of the next season. Claudius was appointed to replace longtime Chairman Georgios Anagnos, who had won 4 league titles for Imperialis in his 10 years as the helm, though had not finished higher than 6th since 2009. It was originally announced that Claudius would only serve on an interim basis for the remainder of the season with a full interview process planned for the offseason. At the time of the hire, fans had been calling for manager Flavius Blaesus to be fired, though Claudius instead replaced Vitalius Heius as director of football and assumed the duties himself. At the next transfer window, Castellum initiated a $23 million bid for 19 year old Perateian football star, Nikeforos Zenon (now known as Zeno).

At the end of the 2013-2014 season, Imperialis finished 3rd in the league table and qualified for BFFA Champions League. It was also announced that the club would not be holding interviews and appointed Claudius as full time Chairman in 2014.

2016 UAFA Ajax Cup

Claudius was named to exploratory committee for the Latin UAFA host bid for the 2016 World Cup by the Latin Football Association in 2013.

Purchase of HC Regis Adrianopolis

The House of Claudius first attempted to purchase LMH's HC Regis Adrianople in the 1950s, and again in the 1970s and early 2000s, all of which were refused by the longtime owners, Furii family. Most gossip surrounding these attempted purchases revolved around issues the Claudii had with the teams name, seeing it as a slight referencing the Claudii family's period as Rulers of Adrianople. In 2010, the Furii sold a 27% ownership interest to Adrianople Sporting Firm, who in turn sold a 1% interest to Imperial Athletic and Entertainment Holdings. By 2015, the Imperial 1% interest rose to 30%. On 4 December 2017, Claudius negotiated the Imperial family's purchase of the controlling stake in the team. Days later, Claudius announced that the new ownership would not see immediate changes in the team's day-to-day operations, but a name change was being considered for the 2018-19 season. On 15 December 2017, Claudius announced the team would be renamed HC Augusta Adrianopolis for the 2018-19 season.

The two married at a private ceremony Rutupiae while Alexandra was four months pregnant. Claudius and Tarpeia would eventually divorce in 1998, citing personal differences. They have two children, Victoria (1992) and Leontia (1995). Despite their divorce, they are known to be on good terms today.
