Nona Kak Kak.png

Nona Kak Kak is a ghost in Hindia Belandan folklore. She is said to resemble a long-haired, pale-skinned woman with three sets of teeth and sunken eyes. It is believed that the Nona Kak Kak would make an apparition to an unsuspecting person who trespasses into her territory. According to some versions of the legend, she lives in the jungle or in long-abandoned houses, whilst others claim she lives near bodies of water such as lakes and rivers. It is often claimed that when she appears to a person, she will ask them to tell her a joke. If she finds that the joke is not humorous enough, she will proceed to devour them alive. According to legend, the ghost's laughter sounds like "kak kak kak," hence the name. (See more...)
