Jaye Ayette (born August 20th, 1965) is a Pianese politician who is the 31st President of the Pian Islands since 2020. He is the leader of the Labor Party. Born into a wealthy family in Chamart and having attended Curtin Island University, Ayette first entered politics representing his home district in parliament in 1998. Defeating incumbent President Manterr Gerry in 2020, Ayette's first acts as president included proposing a change to the Constitution to include an Indigenous Voice to Parliament, updating the Pian Islands' climate targets in an effort to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, and supporting an increase to the national minimum wage. His government legislated a national anti-corruption commission, made major changes to Pianese labor law, and instituted a base educators pay. In foreign policy, Ayette secured the Pians' membership in the Sotoan Basin Union in 2021, negotiated a disarmament deal in the Konkurso Conflict, and instituted sanctions on Yuan. He has been criticized, however, for his handling of the Pian Islands' economic stagnation, his response to the refugee crisis as a result of the Syraranto civil war, and his government's response to the Konkurso Gulf earthquake and tsunami.
