The Kailmeyerputsch was a failed coup d'état by the socialist SBAP leader Manfred Kailmeyer — along with Erich Nielsen and other members to seize power in Berkafurt, Schleswig, which took place on 22–23 August 1985. The aim of the coup attempt was to eliminate parliamentary democracy and to establish a socialist people's republic.
