Marcia won the 2016 and 2017 AEF World Championship in eventing. In 2017, she was among the winningest equestrians on the BEA Continental Circuit, with three wins in Adrianople, Jugny and Ludi Circenses, while also finishing second place at Arcadia for the BEA Championship. She was appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the Empire in 2016 to commemorate her first world championship.

She is 41st in the unofficial line of succession to the Latin throne; at the time of her birth, she was twentieth.

Early life and education

Iohanna Anicia Marcia Anna Theophylacta was born on 18 December 1993 at Palatium Sacrum, in Ascanium. She was baptized into the Fabrian Catholic Church in March 1992 with the Christian name Iohanna, named for her great-great grandmother, Empress Joanna. Her godparents are Theophilius Anicius, Lord Anicius of Apua (her paternal uncle), and Svetlana Pavlovna, Grand Duchess of Rabinovska (her maternal grandmother).

She attended Our Lady of Galata for her secondary schooling. She earned her bac from Our Lady of Galata in 2012.

Equestrian career

Like her elder brother, Thomas, Marcia is an accomplished equestrian. She first participated in tournaments at the age of 6, and has participated professionally since she was 15. Her greatest accomplishments are two AEF World Championship titles in eventing, in 2016 and 2017. She has qualified for the AEF World Championship every year since 2009, and nearly won her first championship that same year, though suffered a broken arm which prompted her to drop out of the event before its conclusion. Marcia has finished top five in the Belisarian championship every year since 2012, winning most recently in 2015.

Domestically, Marcia has qualified for every Ludi Circenses since 2008, though did not achieve her first medal until winning first place in 2015. She has two Circenses victories, in 2015 and 2017, and one runner-up, in 2016.

Personal life

Marcia was once linked to Latin Emperor Constantine XX, when the two were believed to be courting in 2012. From 2013 until 2016, Marcia was in a relationship with fellow equestrian Felix Caprenius. In 2016, she dated Latin film star, Maurianus Pomponius; their relationship ended in 2017.

In 2018, Marcia and Prince Charles of Caillot began courting.
