Matthew Boyle (born December 14, 1973) is an Arabinian businessman and politican who is currently serving as the 35th Vice President of Arabi and the former CEO of the energy company Boyle's Oil. He is a member of the Republican Party. Boyle is described for being a more centrist politican, leaning liberal on social issues and moderate to conservative on fiscal issues. He was elected to the office during the 2022 Arabin presidential election.
Life
Career
Boyle studied business and marketing at Souther Windsor University. He graduated in 1995 with a bachelors degree and completed his masters in 1998.
As CEO
In 2014, Boyle was chosen to be his father's successor of Boyle's Oil. He became CEO in January of 2015, following his fathers retirement. When Boyle was elected to vice president in 2022, he resigned the position on January 1, 2023. The Board of Directors chose his sister Jennifer as interim CEO. Boyle's daughter Hannah is expected to assume the CEO position by 2025 after completing her education.
Vice President of Arabi (2023-present)
During the summer of 2022, Republican nominee for president, Lucien Orton, nominated Boyle to be his vice president. Boyle had come in second during the Republicab primaries. Boyle and Orton were elected on December 3, 2022 and were sworn in on January 10, 2023. Boyle describes himself as a "centrist" and "moderate", who is socially liberal, but moderately to conservatively fiscal minded. He has stated that many of his political ideologies are "not in line with Orton's" but he thinks that "this what will make this administration work."
On February 1, 2023, Orton called a reporter an "idiot" for asking a question regarding the military. Shortly after the incident occured, Boyle called the reporter to apologize and invited him to dinner at the Vice President's Mansion, which he accepted. Boyle quoted the Dalai Lama in a tweet by saying, "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."
