Oostwarden League

Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Oostwarden League was a military and commercial confederation of merchant guilds and market towns along the eastern Sea of Velar. The League grew from just a handful of towns in western Heideland into a sprawling network of several hundred cities and towns by the time of its demise in the 19th century.

History

The Oostwarden League was formerly created from a patchwork of smaller defensive arrangements, alliances, and commercial agreements in 1220, largely as a response to the disruptions caused by the War of the Two Ferries.
