The Orioni national football team officially represents Orioni in men's international football.

History

The national football team is called the Orioni Orcas. In the 1930s, the Orioni national football team was organised and drew 3-3 with Tamurin to win their first title at the Oriental Europan Championship Games. The Orioni national team also competed in the Alaghon 1936 Olympic Games, the team had their first victory in an Olympic game with a 3-2 win over powerful Suverina. Many supporters of the Orioni Orcas are still bitter their side was knocked out of the 2018 UENA World Cup so soon.[1] But the Orinese have gone from strength to strength since the trauma of their first-round defeat in 2018. In July 2021, neighbours Tamurin and Orioni played out a 1-3 game in Alaghon which is a positive sign for the Orinese sign as it prepares for a series of international friendlies. It was the 26th edition of this derby fixture. After the game, Orioni coach $PersonName said he felt his squad will strive to continue their run. "We are just happy and proud of what football means to the world.".[2]

Stadium

The New National Stadium in O'polis is the national stadium of Orioni, located just east of O'polis near L2 metro stop Olympic. It has a seating capacity of 80,000 places. Nicknamed Kedadawi (the hole), it is the current home stadium for all home matches of Orinese national football team. This has been the case since the renewed sporing arena was opened in 2018 after a three-year renovation period. The stadium is owned by the Royal Orinese Football Association (ROFA). The first game at the New National Stadium was on 23 June 2018 when Derthalen played against Variota. During the renovation the team has played their home games in the Zuidmax Stadium in Zuidhaven. During the first decades of their existence, the Orcas played their home matches all across the country.

Management

Current coach Manh J. Lee.
Former coach Guus Hiddink.

As of July 2021, the team is managed by Mr Manh J. Lee (born 9 March 1973) from Rhava. His goal is to lead Orioni Orcas towards a good result during the 2022 UENA World Cup. Born in Puk Pại, Chó Đúng province, Lee grew up playing football from a young age, playing every sunday on the beach with his friends. In highschool the promising young athlete continued playing football, winning many interstate and one international championship. Unfortunately, during his gap year in Yeosan, he was diagnosed with diabetes which significantly worsened and and eventually forced medical specialists to amputate his right foot. Eventhough Lee could never play again, his passion for the beautiful game persisted. As coach of the Chó Vàng (Chow Chó) Wild dogs he won the Rhavanese nationals.

The previous coach Guus Hiddink was removed after the disastrous performance during the 2018 UENA World Cup.[3] Mr Hiddink now coaches the national team of Kualoa, a Marenesian island micronation.
