Prince Peter of Latium (Vopiscus Claudius Nero Petrus Romulus Drusus; b. 30 August 2000) is a Latin prince and athlete. He is the fifth child of Jason VI Augustus, and his first by Marsella Atmos. He is second in line to the Latin throne.

Peter was signed an entry-level contract with Haenna Attica HC after the 2017 rookie tryout period, and was drafted 30th overall by the Lianu Reds in the 2017 GHL Draft. He currently plays professional ice hockey for Haenna Attica HC in Liga Magna. As of summer 2016, Peter has been confirmed to be in a relationship with TBD. Peter was awarded LMH Rookie of the Year in 2017–18.

Early Life and Education

Prince Peter was born at the Palace of Augustus in Castellum to Latin Emperor Jason VI Augustus and Marsella Atmos. He has a twin sister, Polyxena, and together the two are the oldest of Jason's children by Marsella Atmos. Peter is the fifth born child of Jason Augustus. Peter began skating at the age of 3, playing organized ice hockey not long after.

Peter was educated at Lyceum Sanctus Michaelis in Castellum when he became of schooling age, later attending St. Sebastian Preparatory School in nearby Colonia Augusta where he played youth minor junior hockey for the school's ice hockey team for one season. He completed his secondary education at Lyceum Sanctus Michaelis after joining MIAL side HC Caelimontium Trias.

Minor

Prince Peter first skated at the age of 3, playing organized hockey at the age of 4. From ages 4 to 10, he played for the HC Alba Imperialis Juventus. in the Greater Alba Youth Hockey League (AMLHJ). When he was 11 years old he began playing for Mons Ottavia Atlas HC in the Greater Alba Hockey League (AMLH). He played for Mons Ottavia Atlas HC until he was 14 years old where he scored 58 goals and 91 assists for 149 points in his final season.

Junior

At age 14 he was granted Exceptional Player status by Hockey Latium, the nation's governing body, and was able to join HC Caelimontium Trias of the MIAL, a year earlier than he would have otherwise been eligible. Peter joined HC Caelimontium Trias for the 2015–16 season; he was the youngest player selected at the draft. His first four games of the 2015-16 MIAL season he recorded no points, but in his next seventeen games he recorded at least one point. He finished his MIAL rookie season with 26 goals, 40 assists and 66 points, finishing runner-up as rookie of the year.

Peter's second season with Caelimontium was cut short by a shortened season due to the 2016 succession crisis. He participated in 34 games, scoring 37 goals, 42 assists, averaging 2.14 points per game. At season's end, Peter was voted Player of the Year, leading Caelimontium to its first ever regular season championship. Despite Peter's regular season success, Caelimontium failed to reach the playoff final after being defeated by Sant Seoirse in the semi-final. Peter netted a league high 27 points in 12 games during the playoff season.

Professional

On 12 July 2017, Peter signed an entry-level contract with Haenna Attica HC after LMH's rookie tryout and signing period. Haenna finished with the second-worst record during the 2017-18 season, and earned the 1st overall selection through the 2017 draft lottery system. Peter is the youngest player to be selected as a top five draft picking in LMH history. On July 31, Peter signed a two-year entry level contract with Haenna.

Days later, Peter was selected 30th overall in the 2017 GHL Draft by the Lianu Reds. Peter's selection by Lianu was considered a risky selection as Latin junior players are unlikely to join their GHL draft team. Lianu Head Coach Tubbi Campo said, "In my mind, he was the best player on the board at the time we picked...And if he’s going to come and play in Ghant, then it’s going to be for the Reds." The Reds selection of Peter was referred to as publicity stunt among GHL followers.

Peter made his LMH debut on 22 October 2017, in a 5-2 loss to Gwer Durnovaria HC; he scored his first goal the same night. Peter had his first four-point night, in a 4-0 victory against AEA Phoenix on 11 November 2017. Though Haenna failed to make the playoff, Peter finished his first season with 66 points in 59 games played. He is a candidate for 2017-18 Rookie of the Year.

Personal Life

Peter is noted as being an avid athlete, playing in organized ice hockey since he was 3 years old. He has also stated that he enjoys golfing as well. In an interview before the joining the MIAL, Peter stated that he grew up as supporter of HC Alba Imperialis in Liga Magna and the Lianu Reds in the Ghantish Hockey League, the latter of which his mother is a supporter of as well.

Peter has largely kept quiet in the way of his own personal beliefs or political leanings. At the wedding of Arietta of Ghant and Crown Prince Vitus of Staalmark, he was reportedly met XXXX for the first time. The two were occasionally spotted together after the wedding, and it was later confirmed in later summer 2016 that the two were indeed dating.

  • 30 August 2000 – present: His Imperial Highness Prince Peter of Latium

The Prince's style and title in full: His Imperial Highness Prince Peter of Latium. As a Latin Prince, Peter has no official surname; however, he uses the name of his Imperial household, i.e. Claudius opposed to full Claudius Nero. Due to MIAL and, later, Liga Magna, registration requirements, the Prince is registered as Peter of Latium (Petrus Latii) with Latii appearing as his surname in league documents and on his uniform nameplate. This continued when Peter's uniform at Haenna Attica HC rookie camp listed "Latii" on the nameplate.
