Prince Theodosius, Duke of Beroea (Flavius Claudius Nero Theodosius Gregorius Constantinus; b. 2 September 1964) commonly known as Prince Theodosius, is the second son and third child of Diana Augusta and Leo X Claudius. At the time of his birth, Theodosius was second in line to the Latin throne; as of 2017 he is currently tenth. His nephew, Constantine XX Claudius is the current Monarch of Latium.

Prince Theodosius has been a member of the Latin Navy since he enrolled at Imperial Naval College at Hierapolis, graduating in 1988. He was commissioned as a Decurion upon his service in the Latin Navy. By the end of his active service in 2007, he held the rank of Laticlavius. Since 2007 he has served as Lord High Admiral.

In 1991, Theodosius married Princess Antoinette of Vannois, daughter of Charles XIII of Vannois. Together they have two children: Teresa, Theophylactus.

Early Life and education

Theodosius was born on 2 September 1964 at Palace of Augustus in Castellum ab Alba, Latium, as the third child and second son of Latin Empress Diana Augusta and Leo X Claudius. He was baptized on 16 September 1964 at Sancta Sapientia by Archbishop Thomas Appuleius. His godparents are Prince George, Duke of Ossonoba (his mother's cousin); then Duke Isidorus Claudius (his father's brother); Theodora Claudia (his father's cousin); and Princess Alexandra of Ossonoba (his mother's cousin).

Like his older siblings, Theodosius attended formal schooling at Saint Michael's for his primary and secondary schooling. After secondary school, he joined the Latin Navy and enrolled at Imperial Naval College at Hierapolis. While at Hierapolis, Theodosius participated in an exchange program where he spent a year at Ghantish Imperial Naval Academy. He graduated from Imperial Naval College and was commissioned as a Decurion in the Latin Navy.

Military Career

Theodosius enlisted in the Latin Navy as a cadet in 1983 when he enrolled at Imperial Naval College at Hierapolis, unlike his brother, father, and grandfather who all attended Olympia Military Academy. Theodosius became one of the first members of the Claudii dynasty and the Latin Imperial Family to join the navy in nearly 150 years. While at Hierapolis, Theodosius underwent officer training and focused his studies on history. In 1985, he became a midshipman and served on the IMS Anicia Invictii frigate. After completing his schooling and officer training in 1986, Theodosius was commissioned as a Decurion. By 1993, he served as a Centurion Second Grade in the Perlicean Fleet.

Personal Life

Theodosius has closely guarded his private life, and is widely known to shy away from the public spotlight. Unlike his siblings, Theodosius had no known relationships before his marriage. Theodosius was first betrothed to his future wife Antoinette of Vannois in August 1991. Theodosius and Antoinette were eventually married in June 1991 at Basilica of Saint Maria outside the Walls in Castellum ab Alba.

As the child of a Sovereign, Theodosius is entitled to the rank of "prince" throughout his life, as are any of his children. Due to his birth occurring during his mother's reign, Theodosius is entitled to bear the additional title Purpurogenitus. Prior to his marriage he was a "prince" with the territorial designation "of Latium". Following his marriage, this territorial designation was dropped and Theodosius was granted the Imperial peerage of the Dukedom of Beroea. Theodosius's creation as Duke of Beroea is the 4th creation, and 3rd in 150 years. It was last held by Theodosius's great-grandfather, John Anicius, Duke of Beroea. Theodosius's full style and titles are:
